Monday - Picture Retake Day
Don't forget that Monday is picture retake day for anyone interested!
Teacher/Parent Interviews - November 14th, 15th
Progress reports are coming home next Friday, November 8th. The following Friday, November 15th has been dedicated for teacher-parent interviews. Some teachers may also be offering interviews on Thursday evening, November 14th. Stay tuned for a link coming out next week to book your appointment(s).
Enhancing Executive Functioning Skills
As educators, we strive not only to teach academic content but also to equip students with essential life skills. One of the most important sets of skills we focus on is known as executive functioning. These skills - such as planning, organization, time management, self-control and flexible thinking are foundational to help students succeed at school and beyond. Please find below excerpts from an article published by Harvard University on how families can help support these skills.
You will find specific tips to help children aged 3-5 years old. We will provide tips to support our 5-7 year olds next week!
Upcoming Dates:
November 4th - 6:30pm- School Council meeting in the school library. All are welcome!
November 8th - Hot Lunch - Marshall's Pasta ( nuggets, subs, macaroni and cheese)
- Progress Reports go home
November 11th - Remembrance Day assembly at 9:30am in the gym. Parents and families are welcome to join us as we recognize and honour this very important day.
November 14th - Spirit Day - Jersey Day. (Wear your favourite jersey!)
November 15th - PD Day - Families will be able to schedule a time to meet the classroom teacher on this day, or potentially on Thursday evening (November 14th) to discuss progress reports.
November 22nd - Hot Lunch - Byron Pizza
November 29th - Spirit Day- Country Western Day!
