📢 ACT Hacks You Need to Know! 🚀
1️⃣ Answer Every Question – There’s no penalty for guessing, so don’t leave anything blank. If you’re unsure, pick your best guess and move on!
2️⃣ Time is Your Frenemy ⏳ – Don’t get stuck on one tough question. Keep moving and come back if time allows.
3️⃣ The Trick to English ✍️ – Shorter is usually better. If an answer choice eliminates unnecessary words, it’s probably correct. Also, read the whole sentence to catch errors in flow and meaning!
4️⃣ Math: Plug It In 🔢 – When in doubt, plug in the answer choices. Start with the middle number and adjust as needed.
5️⃣ Reading: Skim Smartly 📖 – Read the questions first, then skim for answers. Focus on topic sentences and key details.
6️⃣ Science: Ignore the Fluff 🔬 – Don’t get lost in the jargon. Most answers come straight from charts, graphs, and trends!
7️⃣ Use the Whole Test ✏️ – If you finish early, go back and check your answers. A second look can catch silly mistakes!
February is Career and Technical Education Appreciation Month
February is Career and Technical Education Appreciation Month
February marks Career and Technical Education Appreciation Month, a time to celebrate the life-changing opportunities CareerTech provides to students, adults, and businesses across Oklahoma. As CareerTech State Director Brent Haken noted, “CTE equips learners with the skills they need to succeed in high-demand careers while driving economic growth in our state.”
A heartfelt thanks to Lacy Morgan, Chris Jefferies, Jennifer Shaw, Tanner Ray, Rebecca Styles, and Curren Streater for your dedication and commitment to our Norman High students and their futures. Your hard work makes a significant impact.
It’s impressive to see that in FY 23, a total of 1,474 CareerTech teachers across 397 PK-12 public school districts supported an enrollment of 139,505 students in grades six through 12. The variety of programs offered, including agricultural education, business, marketing and information technology education, family and consumer sciences, health careers education, science, technology, engineering and mathematics education, and trade and industrial education, showcases the commitment to equipping our students with essential skills for their future careers.
Norman High School offers four CareerTech Programs that are available to all students. Those programs include: Family and Consumer Sciences Education, Marketing and Information Technology Education, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Education, and Agriculture Education.
