Career and Technical Education Students Recognized for Achievement
Each year, Char-Em ISD hosts a banquet honoring students who have excelled in their Career and Technical Education programs. The banquet was planned to be held today, April 28, 2020. While we can't gather together, we still want to recognize the hard work of our students in their CTE programs! Students from HARBOR SPRINGS being recognized are:
- Business Management and Administration: Abigail Caron, Elijah Covert, Gage Kilpatrick, Lance Smar
- Drafting and Design Technology: Sheridan Dougovito, Isabelle Fogle, Josh Thompson
- Graphics and Printing Technology: Brooke Burdick, Kaycee Gatti
- Woodworking and Furniture Making: Maggie Bailey, Jack Blanck, Cole Hoffman, Jamison Janicki, Jeff Ramsay, Luke Shehigian
Jim Rummer, Director of Char-Em ISD's Career and Technical Education Department, also recorded a video message to the students; please watch it at this link

Note From The Tech Department
With the closing of the school buildings to students and staff, we have adjusted our procedures for alerting the IT department of any issues with school issued Macbooks or iPads. If there is something wrong with your iPad or Macbook, please send an email to help@harborps.on.spiceworks.com. This will put a ticket into our helpdesk system, and from there we will communicate arrangements for remote assistance, or if necessary, dropoff and pickup of technology.
Thank you for your assistance in helping this process run smoothly.
Need A Lunch?
Lunches will still be provided to any child under 18 within District boundaries. Two lunches per student will be distributed at Harbor Springs Middle School, Stutsmanville Chapel, or home delivery on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. To sign-up, please call 231-526-4540 or email Mr. Behrmann at mbehrmann@harborps.org
Friday, May 8th is NATIONAL FIELD DAY!
On MONDAY, please check out your child's Google Classroom for Field Day Events and Information. Information was also sent home in the paper packets this week. I am looking forward to completing at least 5 field day events on Friday with all of you, as well as schools from all over the world. If you can't join in the fun next Friday, feel free to have Field Day at your house either before or after. This is meant to be a fun way to get everyone at home participating in fun physical activity. When your family finishes filling out the Score Card Google Doc turn in the assignment in Google Classroom so I can see what events your child chose. A certificate will also be emailed to your child. Please send pictures or videos of students to my email kholzschu@harborps.org. I would love to see them in action. If you post pictures on social media kindly include #NationalFieldDay. Look below for a PowerPoint that includes each event as well as videos that explain the events. Check it out and have fun as a family.
Counselor Corner
Teacher Appreciation Week is next week May 4-8!
To acknowledge our HSPS K-12 staff we have a special surprise planned for next week. I know in the past we have come together to celebrate our staff but this year we have to do things differently.
If you would like to contribute there is a suggested donation of $1-2 per student for K-12. This is completely optional. I just know that many of you work together in your classes to honor staff and wanted to help facilitate this.
If you want to donate please send to me at my personal PayPal joellewilcox@me.com or Venmo @Joelle-Wilcox (last 4 digits are 4227).
Thank you for your help in advance! I think it is going to be a nice surprise!! We will take photos to share with you!
