Message from Mr. Kingery

Dear Art Rutkin Families,


Our staff wishes you all a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. We honor those who have sacrificed for our nation’s democracy. May their courage inspire us to live with purpose and gratitude and take this opportunity to take extra time to reflect and appreciate our heroes for their service.


We have many fun activities and events on the calendar during the last three weeks of school. We hope to see many of our families next Friday, May 31st, at Twality Middle School in Tigard for the Twality Schools United Multicultural Festival. The fun starts at 5:00 PM. This is a free event with food, crafts and performances. The Art Rutkin Zōmba Band will be performing that evening. Come support our Rams and this fun community evening!


Read this Ram Report Newsletter, contact your child’s teacher, or our office for information about the June 5th all school field trip to the Oregon Zoo and field day on June 7th. We will be celebrating our 5th graders on June 13th with a promotion to middle school ceremony for 5th grade families. This ceremony will be immediately followed by the 5th grade fun day! Our 5th graders have accomplished a lot over their elementary careers and it will be fun to celebrate their success.


Please consider attending the June 10th PSO meeting at 6:00 PM in our school library. This will be the last PSO meeting of the school year. It is a great way to be connected and get involved. We’ll be recognizing our PSO Executive Board and Committee Chairs for their time and dedication.


Remember that the last day of school will be Friday, June 14th. Please note that this will be an early dismissal day at 11:15 AM for all TTSD elementary schools.

The School Board approved the 2024-2025 school year calendar at the last board meeting. You can find the calendar here. The calendar is subject to change based on the outcome of the current labor negotiations. Adjustments may be made to the 2nd half of the school year.

Club K After School Zone is excited to continue providing child care services for the Art Rutkin families. Club K After School Zone is committed to excellence in care and has been providing before and after school child care programs, full day programs and summer camps since 2006. We offer a personal level of service and attention that enables us to provide positive outcomes for the students in our programs as well as meet the needs of today’s working families. Club K's Never Stop Exploring Summer Camp: Come join us for our “Choose Your Own Path” Summer Camp where choice and fun are our top priorities this summer! We will have a variety of activities ranging from Art, SEL, STEM, and Active games. Throughout the summer we will be traveling back in time, exploring all things STEM, discovering how Magic works, competing in the Olympics and so much more!
