New Schedule Information
This fall we are excited to begin our new alternating block bell schedule. This schedule will consist of four class periods each day. Class periods will be eighty minutes each and each class will meet every other day. The alternating days will be called Blue and Black days.
On Wednesdays, students will have a late start. School will start for students at 9:35. Teachers will use the late start as dedicated time to collaborate in teacher teams. Buses will run at normal times on Wednesdays. Any students who arrive early will be able to work or study at school before first period begins.
Four days a week, students will also be scheduled for a forty minute intervention/extension period called Prime Time. During this period, teachers will meet with students to provide extra support, make-up opportunities, accommodations for specific needs, and extended learning.
More detailed information, as well as past communication about the block schedule, can be found at this link. Additionally, you can access the daily bell schedule as well as an annual calendar of Blue/Black days on our school website.
Annual Forms
On August 1st, parents/guardians were notified by Bozeman Public Schools that they need to complete the Annual Student Forms. These forms are mandatory and must be done every year for each student. Please log into Powerschool and complete the forms as soon as possible.

Important Traffic Information
The City of Bozeman is working to improve the intersection at Flanders Mill Road and Oak Street. The City has hired an outside traffic consultant who conducted traffic studies in the area. After careful analysis they have developed a few proposals.
The current plan from the City is to implement a temporary closure of Flanders Mill (north/south) crossing. They will assess and monitor traffic volumes around adjacent streets to determine how this closure functions and impacts neighboring roads. The City will finalize the permanent solution over the winter and make plans for future/permanent installation Summer of 2025.
Again, the intersection is blocked to all through traffic traveling north or south on Flanders Mill Road. We know this will impact routes to school so want you to be aware and plan ahead.
For more information or to follow along for updates, visit bozemanstreetreport.com.
There is not a specific supply list for the high school. Students should bring a notebook and pen on the first day of school and teachers will let them know what else they may need.
GHS Raptors at Speech and Debate Nationals
Recently, members of the Raptor Speech and Debate team competed in the National tournament in Des Moines, Iowa. Our Public Forum team, Maxwell DeFanti and Pranshu Krishna, broke to the 4th Elimination round and took 26th in the nation!! This was the high finish of any Montana competitor in a mainline event.
Our World Schools team (Sophie Woodard and Shelby Tyler) did a phenomenal job as well. The Collaborative Hybrid GHS and BHS World Schools Team made it to the octo-finals and placed top 16 in World Schools debate! Congratulations, Raptors!

Lockers
Lockers are optional for GHS students. Students, if you are interested in using a locker this year, please complete this form. The form must be completed from a student school email account.
Do Not Fill Out This Form if you signed up for a locker last year as you will use the same locker and combination this year.
Locker numbers and combinations will be uploaded into PowerSchool before school starts. Students can find their locker number and combination in PowerSchool by clicking on Forms and selecting "Locker Information".
If you have a locker assigned to you but no longer need it, please complete the form and indicate you no longer need your locker.
If you do not request a locker now and decide you’d like one in the future, please come to the main office and we will be happy to check one out to you.
Student Schedules
Student schedules are not yet finalized. Schedules will be available to view and print in PowerSchool on the evening of August 23rd for families who have completed the Annual Forms, and on the evening of August 25th for those who have not filled completed the forms. Students will not be given a copy of their schedule on the first day of school, so please bring your own copy. Students needing to request a change to their initial course registration for next year should visit bit.ly/raptoregistration. Counselors will view those requests and determine if changes are possible.
Schedule Change Requests:
Our goal is to have all students attend all of their classes on the first day of school. Counselors will not be making schedule changes on the first day of school, unless it is to drop a class for a study hall. There are limited opportunities for schedule changes.
Students may come in on a first come, first served basis at the following times:
- Seniors Only - Wednesday, August 28th, 1:00 – 3:00pm
- All grade levels - Thursday, August 29th, 1:00pm – 3:00pm
Band Students in Europe
Earlier this summer, several GHS band students and band director, Jeffrey Ruffcorn, traveled with the Northern Musicians Abroad trip to Europe. Students performed in concerts across the UK, France, Switzerland, Austria, and Germany. Looks like a wonderful trip!
