Week of April 14, 2025

We will not have school on Thursday, Friday, and next Monday in observation of the Easter Holiday. We will have Friday school on April 25, 2025.

Our students have been hard at work bringing the story of Jesus' final days to life. Over the past few weeks, each grade has taken on a unique part of the story—learning lines, practicing scenes, and preparing their hearts to share this sacred journey.

This all-school production is a powerful way for our community to enter into Holy Week together through prayer, performance, and reflection.

We warmly invite families, friends, and community members to join us on Wednesday, April 16 at 2 PM for the Wíŋyaŋ Wakȟáŋ Owáyawa Passion Play.

What an amazing trip! This journey was about more than just visiting a college campus — it was about expanding the vision of what’s possible for our Indigenous students. From Chicago’s vibrant history to the inspiring halls of Notre Dame, our students had the chance to see that higher education is not only within reach — it is a space where they belong.

Opportunities like this are critical. When our youth see what’s out there, when they walk through doors that once seemed closed, something shifts. They begin to dream bigger, work harder, and believe deeply in their own power.

We are incredibly grateful to the American Indian Catholic Schools Network and all of our families and partners who made this trip possible. This is just the beginning — the sky is not the limit, it’s the starting point.

Approximately 100 people were present with about 80 students and staff representing eight different American Indian Catholic schools. Representatives from the Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE), the Native American Student Association at Notre Dame (NASAND), as well as the amazing AICSN staff, and other undergraduate students were in attendance.

As warmer weather arrives, it’s important to be aware of ticks, especially the American Dog Tick, which is common in our area. These reddish-brown ticks can carry serious illnesses such as Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and Tularemia. To protect yourself and your family, remember to use insect repellent, wear long sleeves and pants when outdoors, and always check for ticks after spending time in wooded or brushy areas. If a tick is found, remove it promptly using clean tweezers and disinfect the area. If your student is interested in participating in track, let Coach Dave know! We will be starting practice this week.

If you need to make any changes to your child's transportation, please call the office to inform us. This includes picking up your child instead of having them take the bus. We relay this information to bus drivers to ensure we always know your child's whereabouts. Please make sure to call in any changes by 2:30 p.m., except in cases of extreme emergencies.
