Maple Grove Fox Report
November 4, 2024
Principal's Corner
We’ve had a busy October, and November looks to be just as active! Thank you to all the families who attended our parent-teacher conferences. Your involvement and communication with your child’s teacher play a crucial role in supporting their success. Together, we’re creating a strong foundation for learning and growth.
There are so many exciting events, learning activities, and experiences happening here at Maple Grove Charter School! With the cooler weather setting in, please make sure your child comes prepared with warm, appropriate clothing for our outdoor learning experiences and daily recess. We want everyone to stay comfortable and enjoy all that fall has to offer.
Thank you for being an essential part of our community and for supporting our students’ learning journey.
New Employee!
Chris Langenhahn has joined us as a custodian and maintenance worker! We are thankful he is here and appreciate his hardwork! If you see him around, please give him a warm MGCS welcome!
Our Amazing Library Volunteers
Your children may have mentioned to you the names Ms. Emily and Ms. Taylor. These two amazing ladies volunteer their time both Monday and Wednesday mornings to check-in books and shelve them in our library. They also do the checkout for each grade level. That's not all they have created personalized MGCS bookmarks and gave each student a Halloween treat. We are so thankful for ALL these two ladies are doing for the Little Red Schoolhouse!
Kwik Trip Fundraiser
The Kwik Trip Fundraiser is a year long fundraiser sponsored by the Maple Grove Foundation INC. The Foundation is an outside organization that raises money and gives it back to MGCS through monthly popcorn days, painting of the school, and other supportive ways. Extra order forms are available in our main office or by contacting Ms. Byer.
Cindy Artus is the contact person for questions 715-551-3808.
Annual Chili Supper
M&M Bakery Cookie Fundraiser
Back by popular demand, the PTO is having our M&M Cookie Fundraiser. These cookies will be delivered to the Maple Grove Charter School gym by December 5th, just in time for our holiday decorating without the hassel of rolling them all our and cutting them individually. These are as simple as frosting and decorating and wonderfully delicious!
Turkey Trot
Mrs. Cyrtmus, our phy ed teacher, has come up with a new idea to get students, staff members and families up and moving before the holidays!
The Turkey Trot will be on Tuesday, November 26th in the afternoon.
Trunk or Treat
Thank you to the Fromm Historical Society for hosting and letting us join in your first annual Trunk or Treat where you matched donations collected and donated to our MGCS PTO. Another huge shout out to all our families that also participated with a vehicle and those that came out with their child(ren) to enjoy the event!
Wrapping up the Calendar Fundraiser
Thank you to our families who participated in the calendar fundraiser. This was the first time we have done this fundraiser so now know how to improve it for next year! The total raised was around $10,000.
Veterans Day
Our Veterans Day Assembly will be Monday, November 11th at 9:00 AM. All families and community members are welcome!
Thank you to the Veterans in the community for donating your time to our school.
New Sign!
I guess Maple enjoys the new sign too!
Holiday Concerts
Friendly reminder on Holiday Concert dates and times!
Mrs. Triebold will be the contact person for any questions etriebold@athens1.org
First Annual BioBlitz
We had a successful First Annual BioBlitz! All learners had a part in discovering a variety of different species, organisms, and plant life in our very own Maple Grove forest. A huge shout out to Sandy Benton, our Field EdVentures coach, for organizing this event. Another shout out to our community and family experts and experts who traveled a distance to help to educate our learners. It was the perfect day. You can see all the species we discovered if you download the iNaturalist app and search for Maple Grove Charter School BioBlitz.
