Smith Family Newsletter
We believe in the power of school and family partnerships.
Message from Dr. Rivera
Fall has finally arrived, and with it comes our fun fall activities. Please join us on Thursday from 5:00 to 6:30 for our October Raising Readers Family Library Night. We will have activities all around the school, a free dinner, and a "Book or Treat" activity in the classrooms. The PTO Fall Festival will be on October 26th, and the Book Character Day will be next Friday. The parade that day will be streamed online, and teachers will share the link in Seesaw and Canvas.
In addition to these campus events, Magnolia ISD is also on the ballot with a voter approved local funding election. Click here to learn more. Also on the district page, you can click here for elementary curriculum resources and for information about the standards based K-2nd grade report card.
Finally, I want to thank you for supporting our fundraiser, where we raised $19,984.98! Those funds will go directly back into the classrooms and to the students. Prizes for the fundraiser will be sent home this week.

PTO News
Instead of a spring carnival, our PTO is hosting a Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat. With 750 students in our school, we could use more help to make these events a success. Please join us for a Fall Festival meeting this Wednesday, October 16th, at 6:30 in our cafeteria. CLICK HERE TO VOLUNTEER OR TO SIGN UP FOR A TRUNK OR TREAT BOOTH.
In addition, PTO is currently collecting candy for the Trunk or Treat. Send your kids with bags of candy to feed the candy monster. A huge thank you to the many families who have already donated!
