Principal Message
Happy Friday!
We had another busy week at Falcon Creek and the kids are definitely earning the upcoming Thanksgiving break! In my classroom visits recently I saw some great thinking and learning happening. I got to observe students interacting with international human rights issues, researching the lasting contributions of Native Americans, Women, and African Americans, experimenting with soundwaves, collaborating on challenging math problems, and reading all kinds of engaging materials, from graphic novels to poetry. Students also engaged in some great social emotional work including how to “Interrupt, Question, Educate, and Echo” when they hear or see treatment that doesn’t align with our community expectations. More information and the lesson materials for IQEE can be viewed on our website using this link.
There is always enough going on at FMS to give me plenty of material for the Falcon Flyer, but if you ever have any questions or things on your mind, please send an email and I will address it (anonymously of course!) If you are wondering about something, it's likely others out there are wondering about the same thing! Please reach out and would love to answer any questions!
Wishing you a peaceful and fun filled Thanksgiving,
Lara Kibbee

Meet Ms. Wiley, 7th Grade Science Teacher
By Eliam Roberson
Ms. Wiley, one of our 7th grade science teachers, was inspired to be a teacher because she enjoys working with students and thinks science is a fun subject. Ms. Wiley has a bachelor’s degree in biology and a masters in curriculum and supervision. She loves working at FMCS because of how terrific the students are and how much her colleagues care about students.
One thing Ms. Wiley enjoys doing outside the school is hanging out with friends and family. She also loves watching crime scene shows and going to the mountains. Her hero is her grandmother and she likes feeling prepared. Ms. Wiley looks forward to seeing students at FMCS work on creating a stronger sense of community. And to her, CORE means being respectful to yourself, others, and your education.
