GRADUATION FOR THE CLASS OF 2025
It is with great excitement that we would like to share the date, time, and location of the CHS Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2025. We have been given the tremendous opportunity again by MCPS and Virginia Tech to hold our 2025 graduation ceremony at Cassell Coliseum on the Virginia Tech campus.
The date of graduation will be on Saturday, May 24 at 8:30 am. The shift to VT again this year will allow us to have unlimited admittance of family members and friends for our graduates, significant parking opportunities, and a space that will not be affected by the change if inclement weather should arise.
In the coming weeks, we will provide additional specific details related to the graduation ceremony for the Class of 2025. We understand there will be questions related to the venue and the day of the ceremony. We will work to adequately answer those questions and ensure we have a positive, impactful, and celebratory day for the Class of 2025!

CODE OF CONDUCT VIOLATIONS
Please take an opportunity to review the attached letter from Dr. Bragen that was sent out to families on February 20, 2025 related to maintain a safe, supportive, and high quality learning environment for our students.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE (CELL PHONE, EAR BUDS, ETC) POLICY
The new cell phone policy has had positive impacts for our school and students, such as enhancing the learning environment and minimizing distractions throughout the school day. Please continue to discuss and review these expectations with your child as we prepare to begin our final nine weeks of the school year.
Please take an opportunity to review Policy 7-3.3 to ensure both you and your student have a strong understanding of the new expectations for cell phone use and possessing a cell phone. It is equally important to note that a student can possess a cell phone, but it must be "OFF AND AWAY" during the school day (class time, transitions, lunch, etc.) The policy also addresses that other connected devices, such as earbuds and smart watches, are also held to the same expectations.
1st Offense:
Cell phone will be confiscated and can be picked up in the Main Office at the end of the school day by the student. Students will not be released early to pick up their phone.
2nd Offense:
Cell phone will be confiscated and will need to be picked up by a parent/guardian in the Main Office.
3rd Offense:
Cell phone will be confiscated and will need to be picked up by the parent/guardian in the Main Office. Progressive disciplinary action can be taken at this time and a meeting with the parent/guardian will be necessary.
* Should a student refuse to turn in their cell phone or other electronic devices, this will lead to immediate disciplinary consequences.
Please review the attached flier for additional details:
