Monday, February 17, 2025 - No School
- School Close in Observance of Presidents' Day
- Start of Random Act of Kindness Week
- Students can pick up Random Acts of Kindness Bingo Cards
- Compete the Bingo activities on the card during the week
- Turn in the Bingo card by Friday, 2/21/25 in the Development Office OR the Quad on 2/25/25
- On Friday, when students submit their cards, they can pick up swag and treats, and be placed in a drawing for gift cards.

LVA Important Information
Reminder! SAFETY - No Student Check-Outs After 1:45 pm
- The LVA Administration is asking that parents request student pick-ups prior to 1:45 pm.
- Parents must go to the Student Success Office to request a student be released.
- School employees are busy ensuring a safe dismissal of students after 1:45 pm and will not be able to assist in retrieving your student between 1:45 and dismissal.
- Please arrive around 1:30 to pick up students as the process of checking out students may take a few moments to complete.
- Or wait to pick up your child after the dismissal bell at 2:00 pm.

Reminder! SAFETY - North Side Clark Sidewalk Close for Construction
- PENTA will CLOSE the sidewalk on the north side of Clark from 7th St. to 9th St. for sidewalk demolition and reconstruction.
- Students will need to enter through the Main Building doors.
- Students will still be able to access the temporary parking lot but must use the sidewalk on the south side of Clark to walk between 7th and 9th Streets for easier access theater and conservatory classrooms
- The reconstruction will last approximately three weeks.
- Please add extra time when arriving at the school.
Reminder! 2025-2026 Course Selection Process

Counselors have met with all grade levels to discuss course selections. If a student was absent, they should visit the counseling office before school, during lunch, or after school to pick up the lilac course selection form.
The counseling office also has the following necessary forms:
- Pink – Course Petition
- Green – AP Contract
- Orange – Dual Enrollment Form
- Yellow – Open Period Request (Rising Seniors Only)
- Light Blue – Office Aide Form (Rising Juniors & Seniors Only)
As of February 3, counselors have begun one-on-one meetings during major classes to review and collect paperwork. Students must bring all required forms, completed and signed by a parent/guardian, on the day of their scheduled visit. All paperwork is due by Friday, March 14.
Course Selection Meetings
Parents, please be advised -- all counselors will meet with STUDENTS one-on-one in their major classes to review their course selections for the 25-26 school year. Unfortunately, it is not feasible at this time for counselors to also schedule individual meetings with families or parents/guardians. You are welcome to reach out to your student's assigned counselor with any brief questions, or you can ask your student to discuss all questions during their one-on-one meeting with their counselor. Thank you for understanding.
Dual Enrollment Math Courses Requirement
If your child has been recommended for or plans to take a Dual Enrollment Math class (120/124 or 126/127), they must take the ALEKS placement exam here on campus. A UNLV representative proctors the ALEKS.
- For placement in Math 120/124, students must score a 46 or above on the placement test.
- For placement in Math 126/127, students must score a 61 or above on the placement test.
Students may take the ALEKS placement test more than once to earn a qualifying score.
- The ALEKS placement test costs $15, which can be paid directly to the school banker. Students must pay before the scheduled test. The ALEKS placement test will be offered on the following dates:
