TIPS Journal March 31, 2023
on the school year so far
Greetings from Tokyo International Progressive School
This Monday marks a milestone in the long and challenging pandemic as we will see fewer masks at school. As we have since 2020, we follow Japanese guidelines for COVID precautions. From tomorrow, April 1, masks at school will be optional.
Summer for many of us is a time to review and preview, especially the subjects which challenge us. The TIPS Summer Program is a three-week session with something for everyone. Registration has started, and you may read more about the program and register at the link below.
As always, any questions, please ask.
All the best,
Lyn Sato
TIPS Principal

Calling All Gardeners, Novice or Experienced
Some TIPS students are learning how to prepare tulip bulbs to be replanted next year. We will have an excess of bulbs as the school receives new plants from Setagaya Ward every season. If you would like to receive free tulip bulbs, we will prepare a small package for you along with planting instructions at the end of April. They are low-maintenance and can grow on balcony planters.
Please email Carol Akiyama at cakiyama@tokyoips.com with your son or daughter's name and the number of bulbs you are interested in by April 21. You cannot select colors. They will be a pleasant surprise next March!
