Parent, Family, and Community Survey
Dear Parents, Family and Community,
The Deming Public Schools’ Board of Education is collaborating with Superintendent Chavez and her team to develop a comprehensive Strategic Plan. This plan will guide the district’s decision-making in several key areas over the next three years.
The process involves several steps:
- Identifying Goals: The DPS Board has identified four primary goals that focus on improving outcomes for students.
- Gathering Input: We value your input and encourage you to share your ideas.
- Developing Strategies: Based on the identified goals and the input received, the team will develop specific strategies and actions to address each goal.
- Setting Measurable Outcomes: We will establish clear, measurable outcomes to track our progress and ensure we are meeting our objectives.
- Implementing the Plan: Once the plan is finalized, it will be implemented across the district, with regular reviews to monitor progress and make necessary adjustments.
The DPS Board of Education adopted the following Board Goals at its July 18, 2024, Board of
Education meeting.
Board Goal One: Foster Academic Excellence and Achievement
We will foster student success through high-quality, innovative education. Our focus is to enhance students’ knowledge and skills, preparing them for higher education and the workforce through an emphasis on student-centered learning. We are committed to providing the resources and support needed for their outstanding achievement and success.
Board Goal Two: Optimize Financial Management and District Operations
We will ensure fiscal responsibility and operational efficiency within the school district. We will
strive for transparent financial practices, prudent resource management, and streamlined
operations to support educational excellence and sustainability.
Board Goal Three: Enhance Health Safety and Wellness
We will strategically advance health, safety, and wellness across the district. We will develop and
implement a comprehensive plan that promotes physical and mental health, ensures a safe
learning environment and fosters a culture of well-being for all students and staff.
Board Goal Four: Build Family and Community Connections
We will enhance family and community involvement in our schools. We will establish strong
relationships with families, local organizations, the business community, and stakeholders to
enrich educational experiences and provide diverse opportunities for our students.
Thank you for completing and submitting Parent, Family, Community survey responses by Friday, August 30, 2024. Your input is very important, as well as valuable to the strategic planning process.
With Appreciation,
DPS Board of Education & Superintendent Chávez

This change is aimed at ensuring faster and more efficient communication. Please note that voice calls will now be reserved for emergency purposes only.
We encourage all parents and guardians to ensure their contact information is up to date in our system. If you need to update your contact information or if you have any questions regarding this new process, please contact your child’s school.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we transition to this new system. Thank you for your continued support.

We look forward to an awesome year with the Class of 2031!
Relationships are a priority at DIS. Staff spent the first week of school building positive relationships with students, and we ended it with a Popsicle Social. The Class of 2031 is on track to do great things!

There will be fun activities and a character-based curriculum that helps dads start meaningful conversations with their kids.
Our first gathering is scheduled for August 12, 2024 at 6pm and we would love to see you there. If you would like to come, please RSVP here! All Pro Dad Chapters - Red Mountain Middle School
