A Message from Principal Woofter
What a beautiful week it has been! This weather has been ideal for our 3rd grade STEM field trip today and all the set up for the Archer Glen Carnival that will take place tomorrow. A big thank you to our PAC and all the volunteers that work tirelessly to put on a fantastic Carnival for our students and families. We hope to see everyone there!
On May 8th and 9th, we will be hosting spring conferences at Archer Glen. These are no school days for our students, and all families will have the opportunity to sign up for a time to meet with their child's teacher. Sign-ups will be sent home via ParentSquare between 2:30-3:30 tomorrow (Friday, April 25th), so please be watching for those.
Also a reminder that we are setting aside these days for the sole purpose of conferencing with families. If you need to miss due to family trips or other reasons, we would encourage you to sign up for a Zoom conference option on conference days. If that does not work, teachers will be more than happy to send home all of the handouts from conferences in Friday Folders the following week so you can review your students progress at home. Please let them know if that works best for you so they can plan accordingly.
During conference days our Lost and Found items will be set out for parents to look through. We have accumulated quite a few items over the last few weeks so please plan to come a little early, or stay a little after your conference, to make sure your child isn't missing anything. All unclaimed items will be donated at the end of the year. Additionally, we will have our Book Fair open during the conference days and the week following. Families can stop by and shop the Book Fair together or make a plan for what they would like to purchase when students come back on Monday!
Thank you again to all those who completed the Studer Survey! Your voice is important and I am thankful for your contributions!
See you at the Carnival!
Kindly,
Sarah

New! Student Placement Input for 2025-2026 School Year
It is the time of year where we reach out for parent input regarding student placement for the 25-26 school year. Each spring, placement teams begin the process of developing the next year's class rosters. Placement teams take great care to consider a number of factors that contribute to the success of each child, including social, emotional, and academic factors. Teams also consider factors that lead to balanced classrooms that benefit all students, such as balancing class size, academic strengths and goals, behavioral and work habits. Placement teams include your child's teacher, other grade level teachers, specialists, counselor, principal, and other staff knowledgeable of your child and your child's grade level peers.
Input might include academic, social, and emotional strengths and needs, aspects of the learning environment that benefit your child, and goals you would like to see your child work towards next year. If you would like to provide input to the placement team, please fill out this form by May 12th. Requests for specific teachers are not considered as a part of the placement process.

New! Oregon’s SEED Survey Coming Soon
Starting in May, Sherwood schools will administer the Student Educational Equity Development (SEED) Survey to students in grades 3-11, as required by Oregon law. This survey, from the Oregon Department of Education (ODE), gathers student feedback on their educational experiences to help improve support for schools and students statewide. The survey covers topics like academic opportunities, access to resources, and connection to school. It takes 10-20 minutes to complete.
Parents/guardians can decline their student’s participation. Students can also decline to participate by selecting the “I will not take this survey” option at the beginning of the survey, or they can skip any or all individual survey questions. For more information, including the survey in its entirety, please visit the ODE’s SEED Survey website. To access the opt-out form, please see the links below.
