UIL COVID-19Guideline Update

The UIL has posted updated COVID-19 guidelines, effective September 1, 2020. We need your help to ensure we are following these guidelines.


Schools not following these guidelines are subject to sanctions by the local UIL District Executive Committee and/or UIL State Executive Committee


  • Schools are still required to follow Governor Abbott’s Executive Order GA-29 related to face coverings.
  • Schools may allow spectators to attend contests up to a maximum of 50% of a venue’s capacity, provided social distancing guidelines are maintained.
  • Schools must require staff to self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms before activities and visitors must be screened to determine if they themselves have COVID-19 symptoms where UIL activities are being conducted.


For students to have the opportunity to continue to compete in UIL activities this school year, we all must remain diligent in following these guidelines.


We greatly appreciate the efforts of our students, staff, and community to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
