Spring Formal
More than School
This picture captured a special moment when some of the upper elementary students decided to have their own small group Bible study. We love seeing them grow in their faith! What they are learning is so much more than traditional school academics. They are learning about God, how He loves us, how we can serve Him, and how to share with others.

Upper School Parent Meeting
It's finally time for us to move into the Depot Park Campus! We know that the students are super excited and we are too. Desperation Church has been amazing to work with and they have gone over and above to make sure that the space will work for us. We are so thankful to them and to God for all that He is doing with and for our school!
Before we move we will be holding a time for parents to see the campus and learn more about it. On Tuesday, April 16th at 6 PM we will hold a Parent Orientation meeting for current upper school families at the Depot Park Campus. (202 Elizabeth St NE)
At this event we will go over important information about the move and drop off and pick up procedures. We have been watching the morning traffic there so that we have a better idea of how the flow will work for you.
You may be wondering why we would move this late in the year. If so, we feel that moving is a good idea for two primary reasons.
- No more setting up and breaking down classrooms: Currently we set up on Mondays, break down on Wednesdays, set up on Thursdays, and break down again on Fridays. Once we move to the new location our tables and chairs can remain set up.
- Practicing the fall: Moving now will help us determine areas that we need to make adjustments for in the fall. This will hopefully reduce the stress often associated with the start of school.
We are so excited to share with you all the things that are coming up for students. We hope that you will join us on Tuesday night.
Youth Sports Meeting
CCS Parents of 2024-25 Students Grades 3-6 (Current 2-5):
We will be having a Youth Sports meeting on Tuesday, April 16th, 2024 at 7 PM at the Depot Park campus location. (202 Elizabeth St NE) Previous to this meeting we will be holding our upper school open house at this new location. We will be holding our Youth Sports meeting there also since we had this location booked already and our Beech Ave gym is booked on that night. Hopefully this will also help with parents who have children involved in both.
During the meeting we will be electing a CCS Youth Officers which will consist of a President, a Vice President, a Secretary and a Treasurer. Every parent that has a child planning to participate in 2024-25 in volleyball, basketball, and/or cheerleading should attend Tuesday's meeting.
Blood Drive
On April 19th from 9am-2:00pm, our school will be hosting a blood drive with LifeSouth Community Blood Center. This not only helps our local blood banks but also our school. Lifesouth will give a monetary donation to the school depending on how many donors we have. All donors will receive a $20 e gift card and a coupon for a free Lawler's BBQ sandwich.
You can send an email to jada.smothers@cullmanchristian.com to sign up for a timeslot or walk-ins are welcome as well. Students are allowed to donate as well but they must be at least 16 years old and they must have a signed permission slip. These can be picked up at the office or at the upper school campus.
A CELEBRATION OF THE ARTS
We will have "A Celebration of the Arts" on Friday, May 3 at 6:00 p.m.
Please go ahead and mark your calendar! We will have a gallery of art, the chorus will perform and the drama students will present the parables of Jesus in shadow skit.

Cabinet Assembly
We have 7 large cabinets that will be used for storage in upper school classrooms. They will need to be assembled. Any parent volunteers that may have time to help with that this coming week would be much appreciated!
Planning Details
Mrs. Warden and Mrs. Griffin have been working on plans for our first fine and performing arts night, "A Celebration of the Arts," that will take place on May 3rd. They are a dynamic team and we cannot wait to see what they and the upper school students have prepared.
Late Night Labor of Love
Getting things done for events often takes a lot of extra hours after school, but we love it! These three amigos had a blast decorating and planning for spring formal.
