Parent - Teacher Conferences | February 20, 2025
We have our second round of Parent-Teacher Conferences at the end of the month on Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 4:30 pm to 7 pm. Please feel free to drop in anytime, start at your student's homeroom (4th hour) and you will have the opportunity to visit any teachers you would like throughout the evening. We will be done for the night promptly at 7 pm on that evening.
Student Perception Survey
Please see the letter linked here for information about an upcoming opportunity for our students to provide valuable feedback through a Freeland Community School District Student Perception Survey. This survey is grounded in the principles of the Profile of a Graduate and aims to better understand students' experiences in our district.

Lost and Found is Overflowing!
Please take some time if you are in the building between now and Parent-Teacher Conferences to look through our Lost and Found rack to see if your student has lost something here at school. Any of the items that are not claimed by Friday, February 21, 2025 will be donated.
9th Grade Honors Testing | February 28 Registration Deadline
Students currently in 8th grade who are interested in taking Honors English 9 or Honors Biology in high school will need to sign up for honors testing. Students should bring a fully charged Chromebook and a writing utensil with them to testing in the cafeteria. The testing dates are as follows:
Honors English | March 5 during 7th Hour
Honors Biology | March 13 during 7th Hour
Your student must sign up on the form above no later than Friday, February 28.
Incoming Freshman Night | Thursday, February 27 | 6:30 pm
All of our 8th grade students who will be freshmen at FHS for the 2025-26 school year are invited to their annual Freshman Parent Night. Please see the link for more information regarding this event!

Loons Game at Dow Diamond Field Trip | May 13, 2025
We are excited to announce that the entire middle school will be able to attend a Loons game at Dow Diamond on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. The cost of this trip will be $11 and that will include a ticket to the game, transportation, and a school provided sack lunch. There will be concessions available at the ballpark for students who are interested in purchasing those as well.

We need permission slips and the $11 admission in the main office by Friday, March 14, 2025 in order to plan for the event. If you have any questions or have financial concerns, please contact Mrs. Thunberg or Mrs. Glazier.
We would appreciate donations from any families who are willing to help a student who is having financial difficulties for this event. You can cover the $11 cost for a student in need in the main office at FMS and we will make sure that all of our students are able to attend this field trip.
How to Observe Your Student in Canvas
Parents can now observe their students in Canvas after completing a few steps. Here is some information regarding this process.
A pairing code is needed for any parent/caregiver to create an Observer Account for their child. You can have your child generate a code for you utilizing the directions below. To log into Canvas please follow the directions outlined in the links below.
