We have so may exciting opportunities at all levels of school planned for 2020. We encourage all children and whanau to make the most of them all, where possible.
We appreciate the whanau who were able to attend our Learning Partnership Day last Friday - our teaching staff found the time with you , most valuable.
We look forward to meeting with you as time allows for those who couldn't make it. In the interim, our teaching staff will be calling those who couldn't make it over the next two weeks ahead to touch base with you as parents/ whanau. If you would like to meet with your child's teacher in person, please call the office and make an appointment - Debbie or Mia in the Office will assist with this process.
We have attached a Communication / Concern Flow Chart for your information to this Newsletter, so it is clear to whom you can go to for information, clarification or further discuss if required.
Thank you to the many volunteers who have been in already. With you assisting with various jobs which need to be done, helps to ensure the smooth running of our school - thank you.
Thank you to the team of parents who got together for picking up hay in the break and thanks in advance to those assisting this weekend. A special thank you to Debbie and Brian Pearse who arranged this fundraising opportunity for forth coming camps.
Thank you again to Debbie, Mia and Michelle in the Office, who have worked hard to get all our Stationery orders out to the children this week. They will pick up more orders next week, so panic slowly if you havent got to this yet. If you need assistance with providing Stationery, please call the Office to discuss options.
From Mr Bucksmith
We would like to offer a warm welcome to all our IPS whānau both returning and new. Every member, old and young, helps create the wonderful tapestry that is our school and wider community.
The feedback we have received from students, teachers and parents alike has been unanimously positive this week. We're greatly encouraged by the cheerfulness of our tamariki as they settle into new classes with a new teacher and new friends.
One focus this year will be on encouraging ourselves to adopt and welcome new habits, mindsets, interests and friendships. We seek to be open to new ways of thinking, being and doing. I myself have committed to swimming regularly and reading more physical, hold-in-my-hand books. These are new activities for me and I look forward to adding to the list as the year goes on.
Happy New Year to you all as we anticipate a year of happiness, growth of mind and deep connection. Keep in touch!
From Ms Gibson
We are encouraging parents / whanau to ask these questions as their child returns home after their day at school.
" Who was kind to you today and how do you know this?"
"Who were you kind to today and how do you think you made them feel by being kind??
We are encouraging Gratitude and Kindness to be displayed in our actions, deeds and words each and every day here at IPS.
