One of the most fun weeks of the school year will start on Monday, August 23. BCSC Fall Rivalry Week will be jam-packed with opportunities to enjoy Columbus East and Columbus North competing against each other in cross country, tennis, soccer, and football. Girls golf and volleyball will compete in the upcoming weeks against each other. Please make an effort to support our student-athletes and coaches by cheering them on at the games, matches, and meets. BCSC will be live streaming many of these games or matches. On this episode of WE ARE BCSC, we talk with the 2021 BCSC Teacher of The Year Stacy Doub. Mrs. Doub, Columbus North High School Science teacher, was selected to represent BCSC as Teacher of The Year for our district and will now prepare for the opportunity to be considered for the Indiana Department of Education's annual Teacher of The Year award.

During the conversation, Mrs, Doub talks about:

-how it felt to be named Teacher of The Year

-why she chose to go into teaching and moments that have shaped her career

-how the COVID-19 pandemic impacted her teaching and how she adapted

-what advice she would give to new teachers to BCSC so that they can thrive as educators

If you would like to celebrate with Mrs. Doub on her recognition as BCSC Teacher of The Year, please attend the upcoming School Board Meeting in person or virtually on Monday, August 23, 2021.

On Monday night, BCSC will meet for its second School Board meeting for the month of August. A few of the highlights for this meeting include:

-Celebrating Columbus North's Stacy Doub as BCSC Teacher of The Year

-Public Hearings related to upcoming Building renovations

-Board commendations around the district
