It's an exciting time of the year as we move closer to the end of the school year! I have two meetings this week to begin planning our graduation ceremony, and I am eagerly looking forward to seeing our seniors in the Class of 2025 walk the stage. Seniors, please make sure you are meeting all of your checkout requirements. If you have any questions, Mr. Taulton is the contact person, and he can be reached at jeremy.taulton@chisd.net.

It is testing season for many of our scholars, with End-of-Course (EOC) exams happening in April. Please see the schedule below:

• STAAR EOC English 1: April 15

• STAAR EOC English 2: April 16

• STAAR EOC English 1 & 2 Make-up: April 17

• STAAR EOC Biology: April 22

• STAAR EOC U.S. History: April 23

• STAAR EOC Algebra 1: April 24

Scholars should focus on passing their specific assessments, as these are graduation requirements. Please help ensure that your scholar is preparing and ready to succeed.

We have some exciting events happening this week:

• Our One Act Play will perform between 2 PM and 4 PM at Waxahachie High School this Tuesday.

• The Class of 2025 Skating Party is also on Tuesday.

• Our Art Scholars invite you to their Art Show at the Jolynn Maddox Learning Center on Thursday evening.

• The Art Scholars will also be taking a field trip to Meow Wolf Grapevine's The Real Unreal on Thursday.

• Our Law and Public Safety Scholars will be on a field trip to Dallas Baptist University on Thursday.

• Many scholars interested in careers in construction will be heading to Globe Life Field on Tuesday for a Construction Career Day.

• Girls' Flag Football will be playing at The Star in Frisco on Saturday.

The Cedar Hill ISD Girls Flag Football Program was presented with an $11,000 grant from the Dallas Cowboys Foundations! The team will play games at The Star/Ford Center in Frisco this spring.

The CHHS step teams traveled to Atlanta for competition on March 15th and returned with some well-deserved honors.

Th high school girls team placed 1st out of 25 teams with a Beauty Shop theme. Our high school boys finished 3rd with a Shade Tree Mechanic theme. The competition featured teams from Georgia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania among other places.

Congratulations to Mr. Holmes, the teams' sponsor and our amazing teams. Your dedication and hard-work brought home the wins!

Shoutout to our girls' soccer team for their hard work and determination in the playoffs! This was the first time in eight years that our team made it this far, and they represented Cedar Hill with pride.

While the game didn’t end the way we hoped, the effort and sportsmanship displayed by our athletes and coaches were outstanding. After the game, the team celebrated at Whataburger, where their kindness and respect were noticed and praised by others—true Longhorn character!

Great job, ladies! We are proud of you!

Schoolhouse, a non-profit organization founded by Sal Khan of Khan Academy is offering FREE, peer-led tutoring programs on Zoom for the SAT®, college applications, and homework help.

In April, they are launching their first Financial Aid Decoded Workshop in partnership with Coalition for College. This program helps students understand college affordability options with personalized guidance from our trained college student tutors, who'll walk them through required forms and information gathering.

Registration is currently open for the following programs that start on April 4th:

• Financial Aid Workshop
• College Essay Workshop
• Pre-Calculus Learning Labs
