Thank you so much for joining us last week for our first ever PTO sponsored Fall Carnival--it was so much fun! We appreciate the feedback, and we hope to make this an even more fantastic annual event in the future!

Magness Creek students are rocking Lexia! In the past week, more than 90% of our students have met their usage goals in Lexia. You may have noticed that your child dropped down levelwise from where they ended last year. When they retook the placement test at the beginning of this year, it showed they were not fluent in some skills. Do not fret! Lexia is a fabulous program for filling gaps, and this is just one way it does just that. Here are the Lexia directions for access at home:

Literati Book Fair

In books, anything is possible! And book fair gift cards make discovery all the more rewarding. Encourage your student to find their next favorite read by giving them their own digital gift

card at fairs.literati.com. These also make great teacher gifts!

Our teachers are excited to have new books to read aloud to their students and to add to their classroom libraries! By buying a book from their wish list bin at the book fair, you’re supporting a love of reading for all the kiddos in that classroom!

Buying a gift card online for your child’s teacher is another great way to support the classroom without having to come into the book fair! Just go to fairs.literati.com!

Luau with Loved Ones

Luau with Loved Ones is scheduled for this Thursday and Friday. Come enjoy lunch with your special Magness Creek student in the gym and peruse the book fair afterwards. You may bring outside food in, or you may get a tray from the cafeteria. Chicken is the main dish on Thursday, and pizza is Friday's go to dish. Here are the lunch times for the various grades:

10:30--Kindergarten

11:00--Third Grade

11:15--Pre-K

11:30--Fourth Grade

12:00--First Grade

12:30--Second Grade

In order to volunteer at Magness Creek, you will need to complete a background check every year and have Hallway Hero training once in your lifetime. Please call the office at (501)743-3565 or email your Hallway Hero interest to amy.morrow@cps.k12.ar.us or michelle.atherton@cps.k12.ar.us. We want the Hallway Hero piece to be easy and convenient for our families.
