An Update from Rose Elementary
April 2024
August 2, 2024 Newsletter
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! I hope that you have had an amazing summer! It is an honor and privilege to partner with you as the newest principal of Barbara Rose Elementary School. I am filled with excitement and anticipation for the opportunities and achievements that lie ahead. While the month of July since I have started has been quiet, it will soon be filled with energy, curiosity, and the joy of learning and I cannot wait to be a part of it!
During the summer, the second floor of the building underwent an amazing renovation, with old carpeting being removed and replaced with new flooring. Our custodial staff has done an amazing job of getting classrooms ready and the spaces cleaned. Our educators are working extra hard to get their classrooms spaces ready in addition to lesson planning and engaging in professional development to prepare them for the upcoming school year.
I welcome your support and partnership. Your involvement and encouragement are essential to our students' success. Working together, we can continue to build an environment where all of our students can be their very best
Here’s to a fantastic year of learning!
Dr. Cindy Ruesch
New Principal Biography
This will be the start of my 26th year in education. I started my career as a middle school language arts and social studies teacher. I have spent the past 17 years working as a district office administrator, most recently in St Charles CUSD 303 working as the Director of Language Acquisition, supporting multilingual learners and dual language programming. In my 13 years there, I also served as the Gifted Coordinator and oversaw the Parent University programming for the district. My favorite part of the work was when I could be in classrooms, especially Kindergarten, which led me to Rose Elementary, to be in the places and spaces where I feel most fulfilled.
On a personal note, this summer my husband and I proudly celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. We have 3 teenage boys. Our oldest will be a junior at St Charles East High School and our twins will be in 8th grade. We have 2 doodles--Bo, a Goldendoodle and Pearl, a Bernedoodle, and both are certified therapy dogs and we regularly visit assisted living facilities, rehabilitation centers, and hospitals.
Five Fast Fun Facts About Me:
My last name is pronounced ROO-SH.
I went to Kindergarten and 1st grade in Fairbanks, Alaska (my dad is a retired Army officer).
I treat coffee like it is its own food group.
I don’t like wearing socks…not even in the winter.
I have run the Naperville Marathon; it was my first...and my last marathon.
Over the upcoming days and weeks, I hope to get to know more about you and your families.
