May Updates
AMS Families,
As we enter the month of May with just 24 days remaining in the school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on all the exciting and important events ahead of us. This final stretch is always a busy one, filled with celebrations, academic milestones, and meaningful connections with our students and families.
We are currently in the process of course registration for our current 6th and 7th grade students. This is an exciting step as we help them begin to shape their academic paths. In addition, we are gearing up for key assessments, including FAST PM3, End-of-Course (EOC) exams, and Science Assessments. Quarter 4 interim reports will also be shared soon to help families stay informed on student progress.
The month of May also brings moments of joy and school spirit with Teacher Appreciation Week, Student Spirit Week, Stallion Fun Day, our 7th and 8th grade field trips, the 8th Grade Dance, and of course, the 8th Grade Promotion ceremony. These events are intended to recognize and honor the commitment and effort that our students and staff invest in their work each day
Thank you to all the families who were able to attend our recent Honor Roll Celebrations. It was a pleasure to connect with so many of you in person and celebrate the achievements of our incredible students. Your partnership and support mean the world to us.
Achieve Success
As we close out the year, I remain inspired by our shared commitment to reaching our AMS school goals and ensuring a successful finish for every student. Let’s make these final days count together.
Please continue encouraging your students to stay committed to their IXL FAST Pathway. Completing this pathway is crucial in closing learning gaps and preparing for success on the upcoming FAST assessment.
Make responsible choices----Stay safe
Please remind your students of the values we uphold at AMS. We are respectful Stallions who appreciate and respect others. Every student matters, and every student is a unique individual deserving of kindness and acceptance. Let’s continue to build a community where all feel valued and seen.
Thank you for being an essential part of our AMS family!

Current 6th and 7th graders: What interests you for SY26?
Parents of current 6th graders please look out for a coral/pink registration card and a green registration card for current 7th graders for their electives for next year. Please sit with your student and pick their electives and have your student return that form to their guidance counselors.
We have some great electives: Engaged Citizenship through Service Learning, Wellness, Speech and Debate are just a few others. We will not be offering Chorus/Understanding Music for the SY26 at this time. Please be sure to look at the other offerings at this time and the requirement for all 7th grade students to take at least 1 CTE course. All electives are subject to change based on overall student interest
Attendance Matters: Show Up, Achieve, Succeed Stallions
Parents check your child's attendance in FOCUS- We have 45 days: Who will have perfect Attendance?
Attendance is crucial for middle schoolers because it directly impacts their academic success, social development, and overall growth. Regular attendance ensures that students keep up with lessons, participate in class discussions, and develop important learning habits that will benefit them in the future. Missing school can lead to gaps in understanding, making it harder to catch up and perform well on assignments and tests. Additionally, being present helps students build friendships, develop teamwork skills, and stay engaged in school activities. Good attendance also teaches responsibility and prepares students for high school and beyond, where consistent participation is key to success
