HOSA Sacramento
On March 27th the Nogales HOSA team travelled to Sacramento for the Cal-HOSA State Leadership Conference. Multiple students made it to final rounds for Health Career Boards, Nursing, American Red Cross Service, Mental Health Promotion, and the "Be the Match" Service project. The Nogales HOSA team will be recognized at HOSA Grand Nationals for their "Be the Match" service project. Lizbeth Salamanca will be recognized for placing Bronze in the "American Red Cross" service project. Thank you to all of our competitors! The whole team worked hard and did an amazing job!
Book Club
Our book club and creative writing clubs got the opportunity to visit the Huntington Library. A local theater group, A WORDTheatre, set poems and short stories by Langston Hughes to music and performed them live in their theater. After listening to students recite their own poems, they enjoyed a picnic lunch and then explored the library exhibition and visited the Rose Garden and Shakespeare Garden. The students agreed that more time to explore the gardens and grounds of the Huntington would have been ideal, but they still enjoyed the visit. Thank you to everyone who helped make this field trip possible for our students. You rock!
Color Guard and Drumline
On Saturday March 29, the Nobles Color Guard competed at Arcadia HS and earned 5th place in their division overall, but won 2nd place in the movement caption! Color Guard performs at WGASC Championships on Saturday April 12 at Fountain Valley HS- wish them luck as they wrap up another successful season!
Drumline earned 4th place (of 10) in the WGASC Regional Semi-Finals competition on Sunday April 6. They also earned first place for music performance. They may compete in the Southern California Grand Championships on April 26. This would be the first Grand Championship Finals run for the drumline since 2019.
