๐ Staff Shout-Outs : Meet our 3rd Grade Teachers ๐
โฐ๏ธ Mrs. Curry โฐ๏ธ
Mrs. Curry has been teaching 3rd grade for four years at Chatfield Elementary School. She loves to learn as much as she loves to teach! Mrs. Curry and her husband love going on weekend adventures with their baby, Thomas, and being an active part of the community.
Mrs. Curry always wanted to be a teacher; her mother recalls a time in kindergarten during Career Day when Mrs. Curry marched to the front of the class, declaring that she wanted to be a teacher when she grew up! Her favorite part of teaching is looking into a frustrated, scrunched-up face and watching as it relaxes and finally understands what she is teaching. Mrs. Curry knows that a smile can lead a child to pick up a pencil to show you they โget it.โ
๐ญ Mrs. McPherson ๐ญ
Mrs. McPherson has been teaching for 27 years; this is her sixth year teaching at Chatfield.
In 2nd grade, she decided she wanted to be a teacher to help other kids be curious about their world and to love learning as much as she did. She enjoys teaching because she wants to help students reach their potential while giving them structure and guidance along the way.
Mrs. McPherson enjoys working at Chatfield because she believes that we are a family and we support each other. "The work the staff and students do together makes me proud to work in our school community."
๐ Ms. Stephens ๐
Ms. Stephens chose to be a teacher so she could help students create their own futures. She believes that having an education is more than being able to read and solve math problems; it is having the opportunity to explore their interests and dive deeper into something that they can do and enjoy for the rest of their lives. She believes everyone should have the chance to do what they love, and education can be the gateway.
"I am here to teach hard work, dedication, and persistence because if you have the right mindset, you can do anything."
