What's Happening in our School!
Dear Parents and Community Members,
Hispanic Heritage Month is a special time from September 15 to October 15 to celebrate and learn about the cultures and achievements of Hispanic and Latino people. Students will explore different traditions and stories, discovering how these communities have contributed to art, literature, science, and history.

Volunteer Information
Check in With Your Child's Classroom Teacher!
If you are interested in participating in school activities, such as field trips or classroom parties, read - alouds, helping with bulletin boards or with students working in small groups, you will need to apply to be a volunteer through the Chicago Public School Process.
It is highly recommended that you complete Level 1 so that you are completely covered for all events. For example, when homerooms go on a field trip, a parent needs a Level 1 status to monitor a small group. Here is a link to more information.

Fall Scholastic Book Fair
The Fall Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Prussing October 22-24!
Student Illness
We understand that when students come back to school, the "cold season" begins, there are a lot of colds that tend to be shared. However, attendance is imperative! If your child is not running a fever, throwing up, or have other issues that would strongly interfere with their learning, it is suggested that they come to school. The nurse is here for urgent care, when needed, and teachers will be monitoring student illnesses in their classroom. Students will only be sent to the nurse if the teacher feels nursing services are needed.
