This week in America was Catholic Schools Week! This was an annual celebration of Catholic education across the United States. The NCEA theme for this year’s Catholic Schools Week was: United in Faith and Community. St. Viator began its annual celebration of our Parish with Sunday Mass on 1/26 followed by days dedicated to celebrating our community, celebrating our students, celebrating our nation, celebrating vocations and celebrating our faculty, staff, and volunteers. Students enjoyed our parents/grandparents visiting classrooms, ice cream, spirit days, a student/staff volleyball game, an all school Mass, and an All-Catholic Schools Mass for 8th graders in the Archdiocese of Las Vegas. Through these events, our school shares the values that Catholic education provides young people and its contribution to our church, our communities and our nation.

As the Principal of St. Viator School, I thank you for the gift of your children. Our faculty and staff are proud to partner with parents and students in building a lasting relationship with Jesus, our first teacher. We are committed to offering a rigorous faith based curriculum allowing for the development of the whole child. Thank you for your presence at St. Viator Parish School!

Due to the 24-25 school enrollment increase the personnel size of the school has grown to approximately 50 employees (faculty and staff). The following personnel was needed for the 24-25 school year:

• 3B grade teacher
• 4B grade teacher
• Librarian (to serve grades 4-8)
• Classroom Aides (3B and 4B)
• Learning Support (1 additional person hired)

The EANS Grant is expiring in May 2005. In preparation, the school budget absorbed the following positions as we started this 24-25 school year:

• Technology Teacher Full Time (previously funded through EANS grant)
• Kindergarten Teacher Full Time (previously funded through EANS grant)
• School Counselor Full Time (previously funded through EANS grant)
• Instructional Strategist/ Student Support Services (hired current Instructional Strategist Full Time- previously funded through EANS grant)
• Classroom Aides in 1st and 4th grade

However, the school has continued to utilize the EANS grant through this 24-25 school year. The EANS grant is still supporting the following positions:

• Teacher Aides (8 positions, K-5)
• Learning Support (3 positions, serving PreK-8)
• Homework Help (2 positions, serving Jr. High)

**In an effort to absorb these positions, school tuition will need to increase for next year. The Administration is meeting with the Pastor, Parish Council, Advisory Council and Parish Finance Council to collaborate and assist in this process.**

** It is important to note that the Micah 6:8 Program is funded through private donations and any raise to the school's tuition will not occur to support the Micah 6:8 Program.

Current Enrollment: 419. Tours for the 2025-2026 school year are underway. We anticipate having openings in grades PK, K, 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, and are accepting applications on a rolling basis.

Re-registration and a 2025-2026 Tuition Schedule & All Fees will be announced early February 2025.

Beginning this year the school will re-enroll all families for the 2025-2026 school year. Families will be invoiced in FACT’s in March. Families choosing to withdrawal should contact the school office in January or early February.

Renewing students: Our 2025-26 scholarship application submission window is scheduled to open on Monday, March 3, 2025 for renewing students only (dates subject to change). Check back here in February 2025 for more details.

New students: Unfortunately, we will not be accepting applications for new students.

The most significant criteria to qualify for the Viator Parish rate is regular attendance at Sunday Mass using your envelopes. Remember, parents are a model of faith for their children and when families join us on a regular basis they are showing their children the priority faith and church has in their lives.

In order to qualify for the Viator rate you MUST:

1. Attend a minimum of 26 masses (Saturday or Sunday)
2. Use the envelopes sent to you from the church
3. Forgot your envelope? Remember your parish number and use a blank envelope provided at mass.

DO NOT

1. Mail in your envelopes to St. Viator church. These will not be counted.
2. Drop off your envelope in the church on a school mass day.
3. Forgetting the envelope and telling the church or school you went.

Tuition review occurred in December and you should have attended 13 masses by this time. All rates will be reviewed adjusted after the assessment. If your rate is adjusted it will be reflected on the February statement.
