Dear Norsemen Students and Parents:

The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) is the state of California’s academic testing program. The CAASPP will be administered to all 11th graders before and after spring break. To prepare for the CAASPP, students will take Interim or practice exams to measure progress and identify areas for growth:

• 11th graders will take interim exams in English and science

• 10th graders will take interim exams in science

The interim tests will be administered on Wednesday, January 22 and Thursday, January 23 during English and science classes using a modified block schedule:

Congrats to our Competitive Cheer Team for placing 2nd at last weekend’s Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) Competition in Tustin!

Teacher Christina Charfauros received last week’s Valhalla Worthy Award. Mrs. Charfauros was recognized for the contributions she makes to her PLC by creating materials and modifying assessments. She also creates resources for students to ensure they can always access the curriculum. Thank you for consistently exemplifying our values of honor and excellence.

Valhalla is thrilled to announce our Odin's Honor Roll for Semester 1 of the 2024-2025 school year. These students achieved a weighted GPA of 3.5 or higher in all of their semester courses.

Financial Aid Fridays have begun. For a chance to win prizes each Friday, all you need to do is submit your FAFSA or CADAA. Make sure to launch your application through Californiacolleges.edu to be in the raffle. The last chance to submit your applications is March 3! The earlier you submit, the better!

Valhalla's Winter Formal is scheduled for Saturday, February 1st from 7:00pm - 10:00pm at the Encore Event Center. Tickets can be purchased from the Finance Office; $60/tickets or $55 for students with an ASB card

The Salk Institute's High School Summer Scholars Application is OPEN! This incredible program provides students with the opportunity to complete a research project while working one-on-one with a scientist mentor. Visit our website for the application and additional information.

Application, resume, and interview workshops via Zoom will be held on the following dates to help student craft a stellar application. Zoom workshops will be from 5pm-6pm on the following dates: January 14 & 30 and February 4 & 20
