Dear Eggert Families,

This week, students in grades 3–5 completed the NYS Math Assessment. We will conclude our NYS assessments with the Grade 5 Science Assessment on Wednesday.

On Friday afternoon, representatives from the Middle School visited Eggert to share information about the exciting transition from elementary to middle school. It’s hard to believe we’re already at that point in the year!

Our first graders went on a wonderful field trip to the Theatre of Youth to see a production of Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! They had a fantastic time.

We ended our week by celebrating students who had their SHINE slip pulled for the month of April and enjoyed popsicles on the playground. It was a fun and rewarding way to wrap up the week!

It has been observed that some students are hanging out of car windows and sunroofs while vehicles are parked on the side of the road, waiting to enter the parking lot, and even while cars are moving through the lot.

This behavior is extremely unsafe. Even when parked, having students hanging out of windows or sunroofs can lead to serious accidents if another vehicle unexpectedly moves or if a child unexpectedly exits the vehicle. For your child’s safety—and the safety of all students—please ensure that all students remain seated with their seat belts fastened and all body parts inside the vehicle at all times, regardless of whether the vehicle is moving or parked.

We ask for your full cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and orderly environment during drop-off and pick-up times.
