Debra Anne Haaland is an American politician serving as the 54th United States Secretary of the Interior. A member of the Democratic Party, she served as chair of the New Mexico Democratic Party from 2015 to 2017 and as the U.S. representative for New Mexico's 1st congressional district from 2019 to March of 2021.

Halloween Dress Guidelines

Students will be allowed to dress up for Halloween within the following guidelines:

Dress code guidelines must be followed - no bare midriffs, no excessively short bottoms
Faces cannot be covered by masks or paint that covers the student's face and appearance
Shoes must still wrap entirely around the foot
No fake weapons or props that can be used as weapons
No inflatable costumes

Friday is Fun Day!

Students, make sure to check your school email daily to sign up for your top Fun Day choices when it's your group's turn.

Groups are assigned based on your iReady effort and progress, so don't miss out on your chance to pick early if you earned it. If you don't make your Fun Day selection on the day you are invited, you will lose your group ranking.

Fun Day Bell Schedule

We will have shortened class periods in the morning, and our Fun Day sessions will take place in the afternoon.

Parent Volunteer Group Meeting

Our parent volunteer group will be meeting this Friday, at 4:00 pm. All parents/guardians are welcome to attend.

Get Involved as a Parent Volunteer

Our new TJMS Parent Group is ready to get to work supporting the staff and students of TJMS. We would love for as many of you as possible to get involved when you can, how you can.

We have identified volunteer opportunity events for the school year:

TJMS Clubs Garage Sale (December 2nd)

Staff Holiday Luncheon (Date TBD)

TJMS Spring Festival (March 21)

Teacher Appreciation Week Activities (Week of May 6)

Parents are not required to be on the planning committee in order to participate/support any of the events. Participation will require current DSUSD Volunteer clearance.

SAVE THE DATE First Quarter Honor Roll Assemblies

Our awards ceremonies for our Quarter 1 Honor Roll students will be held next week. Congratulations to all of our outstanding students who earned GPAs of 3.0 or higher for all of Quarter 1.

Assemblies will be during 8th period by grade level.

Monday - 6th grade

Tuesday - 7th grade

Wednesday - 8th grade

ELAC Parent Volunteers Still Needed

We are still in need of parents to represent our school on the English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC). The ELAC is a committee for parents or other community members who want to advocate for English Learners.
