We believe that our students’ successes are a direct result of the collaboration between home and the school. Parent/teacher conferences are a time for us to come together to collaborate and ensure our students are learning and growing. This communication serves to inform you of our parent/teacher conference format.

Parent/Teacher Conference Format Details:

• Conference dates will be February 25th and February 27th, in the evenings. If you are unable to schedule a conference on one of those evenings, teachers will arrange a different time to meet with you. Our goal is to meet with all parents.

• Conferences at Lineville will be in-person and student-led. Please do your best to start and end each conference on time. Teachers have been encouraged to set a timer to proactively stay on pace.

• We will use SignUp Genius to schedule conferences. Please click here to access the SignUp Genius. SignUp Genius will be live from February 12th through February 18th.

• If you are unable to find a conference time, please contact the teacher directly to make arrangements for a mutually convenient date/time to conference.

February is Lineville's month to give extra support to The Giving Tree! We will be collecting food all month, but there will be a contest February 17th through February 21st. The most needed items are:

• Canned corn, beans, carrots & mixed veggies

• Cereal

• Pancake mix & syrup

• Can soup

• Ramen noodles

• Peanut Butter

• Jelly

• Boxed rice, boxed potato, and boxed pasta

• Canned Pasta (Ravioli, Spaghetti -Os, etc)

The PTO is asking for support in having a meal available during parent teacher conferences for the teachers and staff on February 25th and 27th. On February 27th a meal of hot turkey sandwiches will be catered for staff; however, we are still looking for some additional items that day. Please bring items to the office no later than 2pm the day of the event. We appreciate the generosity and willingness to support our amazing staff.

It’s Almost Time to Give BIG!

The Howard-Suamico Education Foundation (HSEF) has been selected to be part of Give BIG Green Bay this year! Give BIG is a 24-hour online giving event designed to rally our community around local nonprofits. HSEF plays a vital role in supporting innovative projects for HSSD students that would not be possible otherwise. Every gift, no matter the size, makes a significant impact in funding learning opportunities within HSSD, empowering our students and schools to thrive. We are excited to announce that our school will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair the week of parent teacher conferences! We need volunteers to make it happen.

This year's District Band Concert is on Monday, March 3 at 7:00 pm in the Bay Port Field House. Students should be dropped off at the Bay Port Gym entrance by 6:40 pm. You can then park and enter the Bay Port gym to get a seat in the bleachers. Parking will be challenging, so plan for extra time. Students must bring their instruments, folding music stands and music to the concert. Make sure they are labeled with names! Baritone,Tuba, French Horn and Percussion students must bring their instruments from home to Bay Port for the concert and then home again afterward.

Who: any girl currently in grades 4th-6th grade

When: Wednesdays in April (2nd, 9th, 16th, and 23rd)
Time: 6:30-7:30pm

Cost: $70 which includes a t shirt

This year, with help from the NEW Donate Life Student Leadership Committee, we will be hosting our 13th annual NorthEast Wisconsin Donate Life Walk and Silent Auction on Saturday, April 12th. Our mission is to raise awareness for the need for organ donation. We do this through a walk and silent auction every April, which is National Donate Life month and we hope you can help!

Many people in our district have been affected by organ transplantation and donation. Gail Burant’s son, Ethan, had a life-saving liver transplant in 2010 and her dad, who passed away in March 2023, was a donor. Mary Swinford’s brother, Lonnie, who passed away at the early age of 39, was a donor. Eve Wozniak's husband Brent is also an organ recipient and current BP student Lauren Wolfe is an organ recipient. You can read their stories by clicking on their names or read them in person in our Gift of Life Garden Walk on Saturday April 12th, doors open 8am at Bay View Middle School.

Here are some ways that you might consider helping:

Bus Expectations for Howard-Suamico School District (HSSD)

Be Safe - Be Respectful - Be Responsible - Be Kind

Be Safe

● Students will sit in their assigned seat as prepared by the driver.

● Students will stay in their seats until the bus gets to their assigned stops.

● Students will keep their hands, feet and other objects to themselves while riding.

Be Respectful

● Voice volume should be level 0-2 at all times.

● Get to know your bus driver’s name.

● Silence personal devices - they should not be heard by others.

● Videos or photos of other students will not be taken.

Be Responsible

● Students need to get off the bus only at their designated stop. If there is an issue with the designated spot, their parents must contact Lamers directly.

● School devices must remain in backpacks at all times.

● There is no eating or drinking on the bus.

Be Kind

● Use appropriate language at all times.

● Greet your driver when boarding the bus and thank them when leaving.

● Take turns with others while waiting in line and when talking on the bus

● Be aware of others around you that might need help.

Coming up on April 10, The Giving Tree’s 17th Annual Taste of the Villages and Auction is made possible by the generous donations from our kind and caring community friends like you. Gift certificates, gift cards to restaurants, businesses and events and silent auction items are needed and greatly appreciated. The Taste of the Villages and Auction is the primary fundraiser for The Giving Tree providing school supplies, monthly grocery basics, holiday assistance, field trips, band/orchestra/music expenses and personal care items just to name a few.

Green Bay Community Outreach is hosting their Project Play 60 event for families and elementary school-aged children. This event is FREE and will be held on Saturday, February 15th from 9am to 3pm in the Lambeau Field Atrium.

Green Bay Youth Rugby offers programs for kids in grades K-12! High school boys and girls club, middle school tackle (boys grades 5/6 and 7/8 and girls grades 6/8) and co-ed flag rugby for grades K-8. There is something for everyone!

Hilly Haven has some fun opportunities for Juniors starting with Cosmic Golf on Friday’s from 6-9pm and Junior Golf Academy during the week: Tuesday-Beginners, Wednesday-Intermediate and Thursday-Advanced from 4-4:45pm.

Y Nights are for students in 4th-6th grade and run on Fridays during the school year. It is a great opportunity for kids to hang out with their peers and try something new. Each week there are new activities and games for the kids to play. This opportunity is free for Y members and only $7 for the general public. Learn more.

Greater Green Bay YMCA recently opened their Suamico branch on Lineville Road! One great feature of the Suamico location is they offer a space for kids ages 8+ that is FREE for members, called “The HYPE” . This space offers homework help, arts/crafts, games, and more. It's really a safe space for kids to come hang out together with some supervision.

This year's Lineville Intermediate school representative to the School Board is Rachelle Paulsen.
