Important Update: 1st Semester Honors Day Program Rescheduled
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope this message finds you well. I want to inform you of an important update regarding our 1st Semester Honors Day Program. In order to ensure that all parents, students, and staff have ample time to prepare for this special event, I have made the decision to reschedule the program to Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 9:00 AM. The program will take place in the school’s auditorium.
Honors Day is a significant occasion where we celebrate the hard work and achievements of our students. It is essential that events like these are communicated well in advance so that families can plan accordingly. We recognize that many parents need sufficient notice to request time off from work and make necessary arrangements to attend school events. This new date allows us to ensure that all honorees and their families are fully informed and prepared to participate.
Your support is invaluable in making this a "Five Star Event" for our students. Invitations will be issued to all honorees with the new date next week. If you have any questions, please call the school office.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We look forward to celebrating our students' accomplishments together on February 12th.
Best regards,
Michael Overstreet

Accelerated Career Pathways offer qualified students a unique path to high school graduation. Students choose to simultaneously earn a high school diploma and a college Associate of Applied Science Degree, Technical Diploma, an approved program that leads to licensure, or two (2) approved Technical Certificates of Credit (TCC’s) in a specific career pathway. Accelerated Career students will utilize the “ACE” Grant to cover their pathway of choice, and must be enrolled in a TCSG institution. Students interested in pursuing Accelerated Career pathways should contact their high school counselor or any of the 22 Technical College System of Georgia’s colleges.
Career Spotlight: Welding
Sparks were flying—literally and figuratively—today in our Dual-Enrollment Welding 1010 Oxyfuel Cutting class! After months of bookwork, our welders-in-training were finally able to put their knowledge to the test, practicing straight cuts and learning how to safely operate oxygen and acetylene tanks.
Dublin High School-Georgia 11th Grader Keymontae Sanders plans to become a professional welder, so today’s hands-on experience was another step toward his future career.
“This week, we’ve been able to begin cutting 1/4-inch metal pieces, and next week we’ll begin bevel cutting,” he shared.
Classmate Justin Craft similarly described the moment as a turning point, adding "It felt good - like I’ve finally accomplished something after months of learning about welding in the classroom.”
Welding is just one of 12 pathways offered through the Dublin City Schools College and Career Academy —our community’s only college and career academy dedicated to shaping Dublin-Laurens County’s future workforce today.
