This Week on the Ridge
Career Day
Thank you to the parents and community members who presented during our Community Day event. Students across all grade levels got to learn from these amazing professionals and about what makes their careers unique. The students did an excellent job asking questions of the presenters. Thank you to the Specialist Team for putting together this wonderful event.
5th Grade Science Technology & Engineering MCAS
On Monday and Tuesday we will administer our final MCAS testing sessions. This test is limited to 5th grade students only. The students have been doing such a great job and we are looking forward to finishing strong.
Important Reminders for All Learners:
Have a good night’s sleep the night before
Eat a good breakfast
Be on-time to school
Do your best
Although we take the test seriously, we try not to put pressure on the students and want them to approach the test with the same process and mindset they do for other assessments. It is important that students know that MCAS scores are not going to be able to measure many things such as character, creativity, perseverance, or kindness. They will however, help us target resources to help close learning gaps and to celebrate the learning that has been achieved. All of our students should be proud of all their accomplishments, hard work, and efforts. Thank you for always supporting your children and our school.
We will continue to administer Make Up tests for Math and Science for any students who missed their testing session through the end of the testing window.
An Invitation

Attention 6th Grade Families
June 11th we will hold a special 6th grade field trip to Oak Crest Cove for a day of fun and friendship. We will have Lifeguards on duty and students may swim following a brief safety review.
June 12th is Step Up day. This is an event for our rising 7th graders to tour their new school, meet the faculty, learn about the program, and ask questions.
June 13th is the 6th Grade Breakfast. During this event we invite families in to celebrate with their child. This year we will start with a presentation in their homerooms and then enjoy breakfast in the MPR & Cafeteria. The food is provided by the PTA. Please keep an eye out for an email from the PTA if you'd like to help with this event.
