From Dr. Madden's Desk to Your Home

March has finally arrived! I am hoping we are over the cold weather hump and sunny skies and warmer days are up ahead. As we enter into March, our students will be closing out our second Marking Period. They have been working hard, and they have made tremendous academic progress.

Our staff and students have welcomed this month with special events like Social Emotional Learning Week and Read Across America Month. During Social Emotional Learning Week, our staff and students are learning about self management, self awareness, responsible decision making, social awareness, and relationship skills. Ms. Andrea and Ms. Jess planned special spirit days to raise awareness for everyone's social emotional well being.

Throughout March, our students will be working to complete their Reading Races calendar. Tomorrow, March 5th is our Vocabulary Day Parade! Our school will celebrate this day by strengthening our vocabulary and learning new words showcased by our staff and students artistically becoming a word! As we work to complete the Reading Races Calendar, our students will celebrate with special theme days to show their support for reading and learning.

Mr. Mayo joins Aura as our new substitute Physical Education/Health Teacher. He is excited to build relationships with the staff and students. Please see the introductory letter below from Mr. Mayo. We are happy to have him on board!

Earlier this week, Grades 2-6 staff and students had the opportunity to view this play at Delsea with the help from our HSA. It was an amazing show. We even got to see some Aura almuni performing in the show and helping with the stage crew!

• March 28th: Candy Bar Bingo planned by the Student Congress and Safety Patrol

A more detailed parent/guardian letter will be sent out soon regarding our NJSLA testing.
