Weekly Update
August 8th, 2023

February 3-7, 2025
Message From the Principal
Please make sure you check out all of the events we will have this week. It will be a busy one as we wrap up the regular season of boys basketball and girls wrestling.
Continue checking in with your students on grades and missing assignments. As always we have ASAP Monday-Thursday until 4:30pm to provide students with extra support on any of their work.
Student Led Conferences will be coming up on February 17th. Advisory teachers will send out sign ups for your to pick a time that works best for you and your student. We do understand that life can get busy if you are not able to make it but another adult can attend in your place that would be great. The purpose is to allow our students the opportunity to have a time to showcase what they have been working on this year, what they have learned about themselves as they have worked through Xello, goals they might have for the rest of the year and future years as well as careers they have some interest in learning more about. We hope that you take the time to sign up and attending these conferences with your child.

The Blue Ribbon Task Force recently released a report on student screen time that has a lot of great information and recommendations around technology use in schools. I highly encourage you to take a few moments to read the report, which you can access here:

As the conversation around technology's impact on youth continues to grow, this article from the Child Mind Institute also offers valuable insights into how social media use affects teenagers. It’s an excellent resource for understanding the research and how it relates to our students:

News from Nurse Abby and Nurse Kelsey
A stomach bug, strep and other illnesses have been reported in our schools. We are taking additional measures to stop the spread here at school and ask you to do the same at home. Ways to do this include covering your cough, washing hands, and staying home when ill. Students are required to stay home and may not return until 24 hours after fever, throwing up, or diarrhea free without the use of fever reducing medication. Reminder: we cannot medicate for symptoms of illness.
