List of Clubs/Activities
There are many ways for students to get involved at Bernotas! See below for clubs and programs offered.

10th Inning Study Hall: Available in the Library media center so students are able to complete homework, engage in research, or use a quiet place to study under supervision.
Monday/Tuesday/Thursday: ends at 4:15pm
Wednesday/Friday: ends at 3:00pm
Art Club: First meeting Thursday, September 19th, meets every Thursday from 2:15pm-4:00pm. Art Club is an open studio where artists work on their own projects in the art room. There is a sign-up sheet outside of the art room. Contact: Mrs. Plunkett
Chess Club: Meets every Monday, Room 8 (Sept 9th, 15th, 23th, 30th) from 2:20pm-3:00pm. Have you ever wanted to learn how to play Chess? Do you know how to play Chess? Do you want to see how quickly you can beat your opponent? Whether you are an expert player or you have never played Chess before please join us. Contact: Mrs. Bouchard
Choir: First meeting Monday, September 23rd from 2:20pm-3:00pm. Choir is open to everyone who likes to sing, and meets on Mondays. A sign-up sheet is outside of Mr. Price's room. Contact: Mr. Price
Crochet Club: First meeting Tuesday, September 17th, Room 6 (Meets weekly on Tuesdays through January) from 2:20pm-3:15pm. If you know how to crochet, or have always wanted to learn, join us for our crochet club! Contact: Mrs. Rosenbloom
Culture Club: Meets on Thursday, October 3rd, Room 37 from 2:15pm - 2:55pm. Culture Club is a welcoming space for all students to share & learn about cultures, languages, and traditions with other students. We try out some cultural treats and play many games! Contact: Mrs. Stevens and Miss Carl
Dungeons & Dragons Club: First meeting Thursday, September 19th, Room 7. The club meets every Thursday from 2:30-3:30. Dungeons & Dragons Club is a safe place to join adventures and collaborate with peers. Typically, one player takes on the role of Dungeon Master (DM) while the others each control a single character, representing an individual in a fictional setting. This age old game allows for various students to connect with peers through their imagination. Contact: Ms. O'Hara
Environmental Awareness Club: First meeting Thursday, September 26th, Room 8B. Meets every Thursday from 2:15pm-3:00pm. Come discuss global environmental issues and ways to make our school a more environmentally friendly place! We will also create projects to educate all other students on becoming more ecologically sensitive and better Earth citizens. Contact: Mr. Kennedy and Mr. Apostol
Golf Club: Meets September 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th. The club takes a bus to Turnberry Country Club and golfs until 3:30pm. You must complete a permission slip and turn it into Mr. Krol to participate. Contact: Mr. Krol
Harry Potter Club: First meeting Thursday, September 19th, Room B9. Meets the 3rd Thursday of each month until 3:30pm. HP Club is the place for all muggles wishing they were wizards! We meet once a month to share all things Harry Potter, play games, and watch the movies. Contact: Ms. Sorenson
NJHS: National Junior Honor Society is for accepted members only and is a 7th/8th grade honors service organization. This is a great way to develop leadership skills in your school and community, while helping others. Applications for this year are closed. Current members, please check the Google Classroom for mandatory meeting dates. Contact: Ms. O'Berry and Mrs. Huart
Nintendo Switch Club: First meeting Thursday, September 12th, Room B9. Meets the 2nd Thursday of each month until 3:00pm. Make new friends while playing your favorite games! Students must bring their Nintendo Switch and games to play with each other. Make sure your full name (First Name and Last Name) are on your games and console. Bring your Switch to B9 in the morning, so it can be locked in the cabinet during the day. Nintendo Switch systems will NOT be provided. Contact: Ms. Sorenson
Rock Band Club: First meeting Tuesday, September 24, Room B8. Meets every Tuesday from 2:15pm-3:00pm. Come and jam with schoolmates! Or, just come to talk about your favorite song with club mates. Even if you don't play, you may still join! Contact: Mr. Apostol
Tri-M Honor Society: National Music Honor Society for accepted members in 7th/8th grade. Meets 1st Friday of each month in Room 41, Next Meeting: Friday, October 4th from 2:20pm - 3:00pm.

Ukulele Club: First meeting Tuesday, September 10th through November 26th. Sign up sheets are on Mr. Price's Door. All levels of experience are welcome, and Mr. Price has ukuleles you can borrow. The sign-up sheet is on Mr. Price's door. Contact: Mr. Price
Viking Buddies: Meetings dates/times are coming soon, 2:20pm-2:55pm Room 11A. Viking Buddies are leaders who work with students within our special education community to help promote inclusiveness and spread kindness for all students at Bernotas. Contact: Ms. Frey, Ms. Foreman, Ms. Brogan
Viking Mentors (8th Grade): Next meeting Thursday, Sept 19th in Room 21 from 2:20pm - 3:00pm. Viking Mentors is a pre-selected group of student leaders who provide activities for 6th grader and other Vikings throughout the year. Mentors are selected in Spring of their 7th grade year.
