Socktober
This October, we are collecting new or gently used pairs of socks to donate to Frederick shelters. Students can bring their donated socks to their Hawk Talk teacher or the counseling office. Help us spread kindness and warmth this fall by donating socks for our neighbors in need. The Hawk Talk with the most socks donated will win a breakfast party!

UHS Boo Bash
The UHS Drama Boosters Invites the Community to attend our BOO BASH Fundraiser - fun for the whole family - Saturday October 19 from 4 - 8 - join us as a variety of clubs and organizations will be presenting games and activities to spread some Fall Halloween Spirit: Haunted Hallway, Face Painting, Pumpkin Decoration, Games and More. UHS Orchestra Concert
The Urbana High School Music Department invites you to a Fall Concert on Wednesday, October, 23, at 7:00 pm in the UHS Auditorium. Admission is free of charge. The concert will feature the Symphonic Orchestra, the String Orchestra and the Chamber Strings.
Tutoring
Tutoring through Frederick County Public Library
The Frederick County Public Library has an online tutoring platform called Brainfuse HelpNow. This service can be used with a Frederick County Public Library Card Number. HelpNow is a resource designed for K-12 students and beyond. Live tutoring is available in English and Spanish from 2:00 pm 11:00 pm to provide homework help for core subjects including Mathematics, Science and English / Language Arts. Also, students can practice long division, improve reading comprehension, learn other key skills and practice for standardized tests.
Students may submit papers to HelpNow’s Writing Lab for expert assistance and feedback or to collaborate with peers in virtual study spaces. More information is available at the FCPL website.
