April 26
Note from our Principal Julie
Greetings Fletcher Miller Families!! We would like to hear from you!
Jeffco Public Schools has contracted with McRel International to conduct a study of multiple programs, including special education, throughout the school district. We are hosting three virtual focus groups as a way to gain insight from Fletcher Miller families. Each focus group will use the same process and questions, so it is only necessary to attend ONE of the meetings. If you are interested in participating, please email lyn.porter@jeffco.k12.co.us with the time you plan to attend so that we can forward the virtual link to you. The focus groups are scheduled for:
Thursday, May 2nd from 1:30-2:30
Thursday, May 2nd from 6 pm - 7 pm
Friday, May 3rd from 9:15 AM - 10:15 AM
If you have questions, please let me know.
Thanks
Julie
Middle School
Middle school is working on applying the mummification skills learned in their "Mummies and Bones" unit. They mummified an apple and made inferences based on schema and evidence on what they believed would happen.
Miller Mile
Miller Mile was another successful event thanks to our hard working team! We had a delightful time with families that came to check out what our students work hard on everyday! The night included the kids riding bikes and face painting with some snacks and cotton candy. Looking forward to next year!
Fashion Show!
Miller's very own ladies group, composed of middle and high school ladies put on a fashion show! They came up with all of the details, from the lights and music to their very fashionable outfits and words to describe their look. They invited their families and friends to come and enjoy the show.
Books are Fun Fundraiser
Our Books are Fun Fundraiser ended on April 7th. Each students received at least 1 book. Thank you to all the families that sent out the 10 emails. We also were able to give away an Ipad and 3 treasure chests! The books were sent home on April 15th. If you have not received your child's book please let me know. Can't wait till next year to see how many books we can obtain for our students at home library.
Annual Wheelchair Wash!! May 9th
Don't miss out on this great opportunity for your wheelchair to get detailed our PT department. A wheelchair wash generally includes the frame being scrubbed down. Seat cushion covers are laundered if they are removable. Straps are either scrubbed or laundered. If a parent has specific concerns about their student's wheelchair, please make a note on the sign up form.
This is such a nice gift our PT department provides for our students!!
