In case you missed our special report newsletter on Friday, our school earned the highest state report card grade ever- an 85. It is a true testament to how hard our teachers and students worked last year and bought into creating a culture that encourages and rewards academic achievement and growth. Our goal is an A.
Shelby Grissom Memorial Fashion Show- Our school produced the annual Shelby Grissom Memorial Fashion Show last week. Several of our students participated as models and helping build the set. Thank you to Mrs. Aleah Harris and all the hard work she puts in to make this show possible. Our students have a great time and it is the perfect way to remember a student who beautiful on the inside and out. (Pictures below)
Basketball- Our junior high girls and varsity boys won by big margins against Tharptown on Tuesday. Our junior high girls beat Winston County on Thursday.
State of the Schools: The annual State of the School was held at the Russellville City Schools auditorium last week. Superintendent Greg Hamilton gave an update on enrollment figures, the district report card which was an 88 (the highest ever) and project updates. Jenny May, one of our custodians, received our school employee of the year award. Mrs. May did an outstanding job keep our school clean last year despite her husband being diagnosed with a terminal disease which he passed away from in the summer.
