Spelling Bee
This last week we had our Spelling Bee on campus and our winners will be headed to the district finals. Congratulations and best of luck to each of our campus winners.
Information for School Funding
It is important for families to continue sharing household income information in order for our schools to receive full access to federal and state funding for educational programs that our students are entitled to.
We are asking all families to fill out the free and reduced lunch application to see if you qualify and so that the state can have accurate information regarding our free and reduced lunch numbers so we can be funded correctly. If families do not fill out the free and reduced lunch applications, our school and district can lose out on important state funding that our school and students benefit from.

Shout-outs:
- Dawn Daniell to Vanessa Valle: “I appreciate having Ms. Valle on the counselor team. She goes above and beyond to provide back-up assistance. Vanessa is always helping me by talking wth parents in Spanish when needed. She is great to brainstorm with and has good deas for our team! Ms. Valle is invaluable to the counselor team and EIS!"
Makenzi DeCrow to Admin Team: “I have little else to say other than 'thank you' for being in the trenches with us, guiding us to the best of your ability, and making sure we are okay. Support is crucial and y'all supply that better than I've seen in my career."
Elgin Middle
EMS Codes
Elgin Middle School eighth-grade students recently coded Sphero robots to move through an obstacle course. The introduction to coding requires teamwork, creativity, problem-solving and resilience.
It is not only authentic learning, but it is a lot of fun for our scholars!
