DISTRICT SPOTLIGHT
Bellefontaine City Schools has partnered with SST 6 to participate in an Ohio SPDG Series. The purpose of this partnership is to improve the state’s system of personnel development to better support all districts and deploy effective Integrated Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) processes with a focus on evidence-based practices in adolescent literacy.
Bellefontaine City has gathered teacher leaders and building administrators to participate in this two-year commitment to learn more about and implement MTSS. Building administrators have already met to review their current practices of MTSS implementation by participating in the Integrated Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) Fidelity Rubric or the IMFR. The IMFR took several hours of administrators discussing their current practices. Once the results are reviewed, Bellefontaine City Schools can determine the next steps to build educator and district-wide capacity in MTSS.
SST6 looks forward to continuing working with Bellefontaine City Schools as they are off to an amazing start!
REGION SPOTLIGHT
On August 8, the SST hosted Jessica Dawso, Esq. with Scott Scriven, LLP, in a morning of special education legal updates. The session is always informative.
Following the Legal Update, the SST hosted an afternoon session for New or Newish Special Education Directors. The afternoon discussed items to help those new to their positions to consider as they move forward in their new role. The group had fabulous discussions! This group will continue to meet virtually monthly to discuss topics coming in the next month and how to prepare and improve their knowledge in their new positions.
