MIDDLE SCHOOL MESSAGE
November 2024
We Are Grateful for Our Families! 💛
Message from Mrs. Ziobro
Here are a few exciting events taking place this month:
- Wresting has begun, both teams and clubs
- Girl's Volleyball
- Veteran's Day- Thank you to all who have served our country!
- Fundraiser for Ms. Jenny- 13th 4:00-7:30
- Tutoring after School
- NWEA/STAR testing
We are offering leadership opportunities to some of our students. Groups of four have been going to the preshool for two week sessions to greet and welcome our smallest falcons! We have been very surprised by the connections our students are making with the preschool students. We will continue to add more opportunities like this as the year progresses.
Without your support, we wouldn't be able to make any of these events happen! We appreciate your willingness to send in donations and supplies. As Thanksgiving approaches, please accept the grattitude of the Middls School Staff.

Important Matters to Discuss with Students
Michgan State Police Assembly- Bullying and Social Media
We are pleased to inform you about an important upcoming assembly for our students, hosted by representatives from the Michigan State Police. The assembly will focus on raising awareness about bullying and safe social media practices, with an emphasis on the consequences of cyberbullying and inappropriate sharing of images online.
Our goal is to provide students with the tools and understanding they need to navigate social media responsibly and to build a culture of respect and empathy. The Michigan State Police will cover topics such as:
1. Understanding Cyberbullying: The impact and consequences of cyberbullying, including the legal implications.
2. Safe Social Media Use: Practical advice on what is appropriate to share online, the importance of privacy settings, and recognizing potential risks.
3. Digital Responsibility: How each student can contribute to a positive online environment and the long-term effects of their digital footprint.
This assembly is part of our continued effort to support a safe, respectful environment for all students, both online and offline. Please consider taking this opportunity to talk with your child about these topics, as reinforcement at home can be very impactful.
Hall Pass
This initiative is part of our commitment to improving student safety, accountability, and overall campus management.
The online hall pass system will allow teachers and administrators to better monitor student movement within the building, helping us ensure students are in designated areas at appropriate times. Here are some key benefits of the system:
- Increased Accountability: Teachers and administrators can track hall pass usage in real-time, providing a clear and accurate record of student whereabouts.
- Enhanced Safety: With real-time updates, we can respond more quickly in case of emergencies and ensure students remain in safe areas.
- Reduced Classroom Interruptions: The online system minimizes disruptions by allowing students to request and log hall passes electronically.
During the pilot period, we will gather feedback from students, teachers, and parents to assess the system’s effectiveness and make any necessary adjustments. Our goal is to create a smooth, secure, and efficient process for managing student movement throughout the school day.
If you have any questions or would like to share your feedback as the pilot progresses, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Vanessa Ziobro (810) 591-3649 or vziobor@lakevillschools.org
Boy's Bathroom Vandalism
Unfortunatly, there was an incident of vandalism that recently occurred in the main boys’ restroom. Due to the damage, the main boys' restroom is temporarily closed while we address the necessary repairs. In the meantime, boys will be able to use the restrooms near the gym until the main restroom is back in service.
We encourage anyone with information about this incident to report it directly to school administration. Any details, even if small, can be helpful in addressing this issue and ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all.
