Report Potholes
The snow may be behind us, but crews will be working to address potholes. Potholes form as melting snow and ice seep into the pavement, then freeze and expand, causing gaps to form. Oce the ice melts, the fractured pavement cannot support the weight of passing cars, causing potholes.
We encourage our residents to report a pothole whenever they see one. Once they are reported, we do our best to fill them. The City does not maintain Main Street. If you are calling to report a pothole on Main Street you will need to contact the Idaho Transportation Department.
Potholes can be reported to City Hall at (208) 934-5669 or by emailing info@goodingidaho.org

Concerns Grow as Students Fall Behind
Many students never caught up after the pandemic. But that's not the case in these districts. Read the article from IDED News.org to learn how Gooding is overcoming this hurdle. Below are the links.

Message from Mayor Diane Houser
Hello Gooding,
It looks like spring is just around the corner! I must say, we had a very uneventful winter with not much snow or ice, which is nice, but it doesn't provide sufficient water for the mountains. Hopefully, we'll have a wet spring; we certainly need the rain.
The City held a State of the City address on February 18th at the Senior Center and another on February 20th for the Chamber of Commerce. Our Public Works Department, Chief of Police, and Fair Manager Don Gill spoke to the citizens at the Senior Center. Both events had a nice turnout, and I would like to thank everyone who came out to hear about what is happening in the City. We look forward to seeing you all next year.
As we welcome this early spring, we anticipate the start of work on the new broadband internet lines that will be installed in Gooding. We should also begin development on the new Bike Park, which will be located just east of the Skate Park.
A reminder that on March 9th, we will switch back to Daylight Saving Time, so don't forget to set your clocks ahead.
Additionally, we'll be celebrating St. Patrick's Day on March 17th. The Gooding Senior Center will be serving corned beef and cabbage, along with potatoes, carrots, and fruit. The cost is $7.25 for members and $8.00 for non-members. If you'd like to attend, please let them know in advance so they can order the correct amount of corned beef. To place your order, call 208-934-5504 and enjoy!
God bless and stay safe. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
