Dear Riverview Families,
Welcome Back! I hope you are excited for a wonderful 1st week of school. I am so delighted that you are part of our amazing learning community here at Riverview. I welcome and value your positive energy and dedication to excellence in bilingual education, and I look forward to working with all our students.
Thank you to all families that attended Open House! We had a Full House and yes, we also have modified things to make it smoother next year, thank you for your suggestions!
Reminders from Open House:
🚌 Transportation
- If you did not have the opportunity to attend Open House, make sure to call the school to verify transportation for your student.
- Arrive at the bus stop five minutes before the bus is scheduled to pick up your child.
- Track the status of your child’s bus on your school’s website or the Bus Status app linked below.
- For your up-to-date bus pick-up and drop-off times, log on to your Campus Parent account and click on the Transportation tab.
🚗 Pickup and Drop off from school
School hours 9:15am - 4:00pm. If your family is not taking the bus, during Open House you should have received your parent pickup number and instructions for drop off and pickup, if you did received it at open house, for 1st-5th it will be in your student's backpack and for Pre-K and K you can pick it up on Tuesday or Wednesday in the office.
When picking up your student, make sure to display the blue card with your number on the window.
**Dismissal begins at 3:55pm
IMPORTANT- Any changes to your students regular transportation plans, need to be made BEFORE 3:30 PM., by calling 651-293-8665 or emailing angelica.diaz@spps.org. After that time, students will follow their regular plan.
👕Uniforms
Uniforms were distributed during Open House, if you did not get a chance to attend, or get a uniform, we will have a second date to distribute them. I will send information with a date and time on next weeks weekly message.
📝Materials Fee
If you did not get a chance to support Riverview with the materials fee, you can do so at any time on this link.
Educational Benefits
It is of vital importance for SPPS and Riverview to collect 100% of Educational Benefits forms. The Application for Educational Benefits determines how much funding Riverview receives for educational programs, supports and technology. Additionally, eligible families and students can qualify for these benefits. Please make sure to complete it. If you need a paper copy, ask your student's teacher and they will send one with your student. Or you can do so on this link.

- Xcel Energy’s Income-Qualified Home Energy Saving Program - Free advice and energy-saving improvements, including weatherization and replacement of your older appliances for newer models.
- Minnesota Children’s Museum - Discounted tickets and membership
- Science Museum of Minnesota - $15/yr membership for two adults and all dependents under 21. Includes free admission, Omnitheather movies, and parking. Discounts on summer camps and the Explore Store gift shop.
- Metro Transit’s Transit Assistance Program (TAP) - $1 rides for all household members
- Xfinity Internet Essentials - $10/mo high speed internet
- Affordable Connectivity Program - Up to $30/month towards broadband service and a one time reimbursement of up to $100 for a device (i.e tablet, laptop). Through approved providers only.
- The Minnesota Telephone Assistance Plan (TAP) - TAP is a bill credit of $10 monthly for landline service and LL is a bill credit of up to $9.25 monthly on either landlines, cell phones or broadband internet service.

- Guthrie Theater Gateway Program - Up to four tickets per production for $5 each
