Principal's Message
Dear Eagles,
Only 5 more wake-ups for school this year. Every year seems to fly by faster than the year before! This year was no exception and was definitely filled with some wonderful accomplishments at our school. Today we celebrated many of them including recognizing students and families who have participated in the following ways:
Parent volunteers and students participating in clubs and leadership roles such as Student Council, Green Team, Running Club, Apple Seedlings, Kindness Crew, Safety Patrol, and more.
Our school is only as good as those that put in the effort to make it great and luckily because of everyone's contributions, TLES is a special place for sure!!
It is with mixed emotions that we also must say farewell to some special people at our school. Three of our longtime staff members will retire at the end of this school year: 5th Grade Teacher Mr. Mills, 4th grade teacher Mrs. Means, and our Health Clerk Mrs. Escamilla. Additionally, our wonderful Asst. Principal Mrs. Frasher will be moving to another site next year. She has done an amazing job as an educational leader at our school. She is therefore moving to continue to utilize her skillset at another site to provide her with a diversified experience before she inevitably becomes a Principal at her own school one day in the future.
We will miss all our Eagles flying the nest whether they are staff, promoting 5th graders, or students moving to other places. But, we know you will all soar wherever you may go and we are just thankful to have spent the time we had with you. Remember once an eagle always an eagle so please be sure to come back and visit the nest!
Families, thank you for a great school year. Please look below for next week's schedule.
Sincerely,
Lani Russi
Principal, TLES

Device Insurance Information
All iPads and charging blocks/cords are taken home over the summer UNLESS the parent does not want the student to have them. In that case, the library would keep the iPad and charging block/cord over the summer and return them to the student at the beginning of the school year.
Insurance coverage for iPads runs from 7/1-6/30 each year for $20.00. The district will email all families information about purchasing iPad insurance for the next school year. The insurance webstore will be open from 5/24-6/14/24. Parents who do not purchase insurance online during that time can purchase it in the library once school starts in August. The librarian will need to inspect the iPad at that time.
Student Medication Notice
If your student has medication in the Health Office, please pick it up no later than June 7th. All remaining medications will be sent to the District Office where they will be held until June 20th. Unclaimed medication will be destroyed on June 21st.
Lost & Found
Yearbooks
PTA will sell yearbooks on Monday, 6/3, and Tuesday, 6/4, AFTER SCHOOL ONLY, beginning at 2:15 pm following Late Bird release. Yearbooks are $30.00 and they will only accept cash payment. If you have any questions regarding yearbooks, please contact PTA at luisenoyearbook@gmail.com.
Avoid the Summer Slide
Want to avoid the Summer Slide? We have a solution, iReady, and it will be available until August 1st. Please have your student log into iReady as they normally do in their classrooms. Also, ensure your student works independently and gives their best effort as this is an individualized learning path to meet their specific academic needs. We have seen students not slide but make academic growth over the summer simply by completing 2 lessons in each subject weekly on iReady. There are 10 weeks of summer. We understand that families take vacations, make great memories, and cannot access iReady after August 1st, so if students complete and pass (with 70% accuracy) 10 lessons in math and 10 lessons in reading, there will be a special prize for them when we return in August! Please support your child's academic growth and set them up for success next year!
Annual Family Update
It is now time to complete your Annual Family Update in your Infinite Campus Parent Portal. This update is REQUIRED FOR ALL STUDENTS RETURNING TO TVUSD FOR THE 24/25 SCHOOL YEAR.
Any student who does not have a completed Annual Update:
may not be enrolled in a class for the 24/25 school year
may not receive a schedule
and may not be able to participate in school business days in August.
It is imperative that all families complete the Annual Family Update as soon as possible to prevent any delay in your child's enrollment for next school year.

Please note, this process is for RETURNING STUDENTS ONLY. If you have a child in your family who will be new to TVUSD for the 24/25 school year, you must complete the New Student Enrollment process. Click HERE for New Student Enrollment instructions.
