Hello, Forest Park families!
On Friday, our staff engaged in Building-wide Professional Development at Forest Park. During our professional learning, we had staff engage in various curriculum development and vertical teaming. This helped improve our ability to work together as high performing teams and EMLSS teams in order to support the needs of our learners. In addition, to support staff wellness, a portion of our morning time featured a variety of ways for staff to focus on their personal wellness and wellbeing! The choices included volleyball, peloton rides, adult calming corner, reading, yoga, fitness rotations, and more!
Another exciting feature of our PD day was an opportunity for our 6-8 ELA staff to connect on the new ELA resource, MyPerspectives. Staff had an opportunity to explore digital resources and ways to engage students in their classrooms! I am very impressed with the way our staff is committed to learning something new.
And as a reminder, parent/teacher conferences will be held November 7th, from 4-7PM. Conferences are meant to offer time for brief conversations (10 minutes) regarding your student's progress. If you require a more lengthy discussion regarding your student or are unable to meet within the time and space available, please email or call the teacher and arrange a mutual time to meet. The link to sign up for an in person or virtual conference was sent to you last Friday. If you are having difficulties signing up, please reach out to teachers directly.
Have a great week,
Jenna Rosienski

3-Week Saber Pre-School By FHS Child II Development In December
The Franklin High School Child Development II students will be sponsoring “Saber Pre-school” for children ages 3 to 5 on various days in December.
Saber Pre-school is designed for children ages 3 to 5 who are toilet trained and ready to experience a supportive and enriching pre-school environment. The student teachers prepare daily lesson plans that not only provide opportunities for the Little Sabers to develop socially, but also to enhance their kindergarten readiness skills. The Saber Pre-school program offers a truly excellent experience for both our big and small students.
Class time will be from 9:00 to 10:15 am and tuition is $20 to cover the cost of materials and snacks for the entire 3 weeks. Saber Pre-school will include story time, large and small group activities, free time, songs and other fun activities. Pre-registration is required. Registration closes when we hit 25 participants or by Friday, November 15th at the latest. If you know someone who has a child ages 3-5, please help us by sharing this message to them!

FHS Fall Play: "Almost, Maine" 11/14-11/17
The FHS Fall Play is fast approaching with shows taking place Thurs 11/14 through Sun 11/17. For tickets and show information, please visit the Saber Center website here.
Show Description: Welcome to Almost, Maine, a place that’s so far north, it’s almost not in the United States. It’s almost in Canada. And it’s not quite a town, because its residents never got around to getting organized. So it almost doesn’t exist. One cold, clear, winter night, as the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, the residents of Almost, Maine, find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—almost—in this delightful midwinter night’s dream.
Athletics & Activities: Wrestling and boys basketball
Both wrestling (all grade levels) and boys basketball (7th/8th grade only) are starting! Any student that is interested in joining these sports can sign up online HERE. Registration for any sport requires an uploaded physical form.
