Class Activities
6th Grade Outdoor Education
6th Grade Outdoor Education was a blast this year! Students learned about orienteering, wildlife, freshwater biology, shelter building, and more! They also built relationships with each other and challenged themselves on a high ropes course!
8th Grade “This is Me” Stained Glass
Eighth graders designed window panes with symbols, words, and patterns to describe themselves as individuals. When we combined them, they saw the beauty in the masterpiece of how they all work together.

High School Boys Golf
It was a great last two weeks for both the JV and Varsity golf teams. First, the JV team played in a great experience building tournament at Indian Tree Golf Club two weeks ago. All five golfers who participated improved their scores from their first tournament of the season. The Varsity tournament at Meadow Hills two Tuesdays ago was a dominating win! Senior Landon Webb fired a 74 to win the tournament, with Senior Josh Reeves firing a 76 to finish right behind Landon and finish 2nd. The team as a whole won yet another league tournament! Last Tuesday, our Varsity boys participated in a 5A golf tournament hosted by Denver East at City Park Golf Course, in which they finished 8th out of 28 teams. It was pretty impressive! The JV team had another tournament last Tuesday at Willis Case Golf Course, where the team had their most successful tournament yet this season. Felix Marshall shined as the freshman shot a career best 48 through 9 holes! Sophomores Carter Balken and Andrew Wilcoxen each shot a 52 while playing some really solid golf. Keep up the great work, boys! Last Thursday, the Varsity team drove to Estes Park Golf Course as they left the school at 5 am! It was a chilling and foggy morning, but the boys played solid golf! This was a more prominent tournament hosted by Estes Park HS, which hosted 15 teams, including some of the powerhouse 3A schools. Our boys went on to finish third but won the league portion of it, powered by Josh Reeves, who shot a 71 to win the tournament! Tyler Roe also shot a very efficient 90, including not one but TWO Birdies! Something that is extremely worth mentioning is that Senior Josh Reeves is the 1st-ranked GOLFER in all of 2A, and Senior Landon Webb is the 3rd-ranked golfer in 2A. The golf program has made tremendous strides and now is dialed in on another league championship as well as winning State! Keep up the amazing work, boys. We are so proud of you!

Volleyball
High School Volleyball: The volleyball program has had a very busy last two weeks as it squared off against six different opponents. Two Tuesdays ago, all three levels hosted Pinnacle Charter. The C team won the first set but unfortunately lost the next two sets. The JV team rallied a couple of times and found their groove as they were able to win both sets. The JV team used strong kills from sophomore Emma Francavilla and freshman Ellie McLaughlin to spark the offensive attack. Two Thursdays ago, the C team and Varsity program hosted Kipp Denver. The C team used the momentum of sophomore Claire McLaughlin, Sophomore Mariella Nyland-Marucutt, and Emorie Zaharris to grab their first win of the season. Last Tuesday, all three programs traveled South to Woodland Park, and unfortunately, all three teams lost. The Varsity team rallied Wednesday as they defeated Englewood HS on the road in straight sets! Junior Ashby Deeds was in the middle of all the firepower as she finished with 4 kills, an ace, and 6 digs! All three programs were back at it this past Friday against Highland, but unfortunately, all three teams lost. All three teams play this Monday against Kennedy at home, as well as JV and Varsity at home this Friday. We hope to see you all there!
Middle School Volleyball: The B team has had a strong start to the season, displaying teamwork and effort from the outset. In their first game, they got most of their serves in and worked hard on passing, leading to some great rally volleys. Isla Lewis, Izzy Sandoval, and Everly Kostiuk contributed with strong serves, while returners Nora Atwell and Jorden Spears kept the back row steady. Despite having only one practice, the team came together well, showing resilience even after an injury in Game 2 and fighting hard in Game 3, though they ultimately fell short. In a later match, after losing the first set, the B Team rallied to win their second straight match, with Charlie Hileman leading the service line, Laila Dilanyan hustling for every loose ball, and Liliana Barrington dominating at the net. The A team also worked to implement a new rotation with a setter and libero, and while it was a bit rough, they stayed positive. Serving proved crucial in a win against Northstar Academy, where players like Charlie Hileman, Stella Hankins, Liliana Barrington, and others went on long serving runs. Jorden Spears’ serves gave the team a big lead in the second game. At the same time, Nora Atwell, Annabelle Bieniek, Everly Kostiuk, and Kidist Pritchard made strong passes to set up hitters like Ada Di Santo, Izzy Sandoval, and Isla Lewis. The team worked well but came up just short in some matches, including a loss to Leman Academy, where the highlight was an incredible second-set comeback from an 18-8 deficit to win 25-20. The team continues to improve, stringing together three-hit possessions and showing great potential for the rest of the season. Go Hawks! The MS Volleyball team has quite the upcoming schedule, as they have a four-game week. Monday, the A and B teams will travel to Platte River, and then all three programs will host Aspen View this Tuesday. On Wednesday, they will host Denver Christian, and then on Thursday, they will travel to Cherry Hills. Good luck this week, ladies. We are all cheering for you!

Cross Country
High School: The High School Cross Country team had an extremely successful first meet. They raced in the D’Evelyn Dash meet in the D2 division, in which the boys finished 4th out of 9th, and the girls finished 5th out of 7 teams. Sophomores Rylan Griffith and Elena Telesin were the stars of the show as both finished inside the top 10. Rylan finished in 2nd place with a time of 18:04, and Elena finished in 10th with a time of 24:56! Senior Mitch Hixson also had a very strong race and a very strong start to his senior year, as he finished in 9th. Mitch finished with a great time of 18:45! The team showed tremendous promise for the upcoming season, and we wish them the best of luck next Tuesday at the Littleton Lions Classic.
Middle School: The MS Cross Country team had their first meet of the season last Friday at the Slavens Invitational. The Girls had eleven total runners between A and B teams, and the boys had seven. All the girls who ran showed great endurance and pushed themselves all the way to the finish line, showing that their pre-meet training paid off! 7th grader Ella McGowan paved the way for success as she finished in 5th place out of a whopping 195 total runners! She finished with an incredible score of 12:27, which was 8 seconds faster than her goal! On the boys' side, 6th grader Paxton Jessen finished 29th out of the total 213 runners! Paxton finished at 12:35, which was one of the top times for all 6th graders; it was very impressive! Great work to all of our runners and to our two phenomenal coaches, Rob Hixson and Kelly Johnson. We are all looking forward to another strong race this Friday.

Boys Soccer
High School: The HS Boys Soccer team did not get the start they wanted as they lost to Loveland Classical and Denver Christian. But this team showed that they are a legit contender for State as they rebounded greatly against Mile High Academy and a very scrappy Englewood team. Four different players simply dominated the offense as a whole. However, Sophomore Moe Estacio kickstarted the offense with two goals! They followed this momentum into last Friday’s game as they won by a score of 2-0. Offensive stars Markus Lloyd and Evan Nadrash were the difference makers, scoring exciting and impressive goals. The HS Varsity and JV have a home game this Tuesday against Forge Christian, and Varsity has road games this Thursday against STEM and this Saturday against Front Range Christian! Good luck this week, boys!
Middle School: The team won their first game 1-0 against Northstar on August 27th. On August 29th, they faced Aspen View Academy, winning 3-2, with Ashton DeLisa scoring a hat trick. The offense moved the ball well, while the defense, anchored by Leo Sanchez and Andrey Telesin, kept Aspen View from establishing much offense. Despite limited practice time before the first game, the team found their offensive rhythm, with Caleb Monarez assisting Corbin Sadler to score the lone goal with 4:36 left in the first half. Strong defensive play from Hudson Dunn and Josiah Lewis preserved the shutout. The A team won their third match 7-0, with Cam Lawless striking fast, scoring just 27 seconds after the whistle. Ashton DeLisa followed with a goal 2.5 minutes later, and Cam added another six minutes after Ashton, giving the team a 3-0 lead at halftime. The defense, led by Micah Prichard, Josiah Lewis, Hudson Dunn, Henry Krier, Leo Sanchez, Gran Ryerson, and Luka Au, was stellar, preventing any shots on goal for Josiah Paul. In the second half, Josiah Paul sent a beautiful cross to Cam Lawless, who nearly scored a header, missing a hat trick by hitting the crossbar. Corbin Sadler (scoring his second goal of the season), Josiah Paul, Hudson Dunn, and Aaron Kuruvilla all netted their first goals of the season, while the defense continued to limit shooting opportunities, with Toddli Scholl and Andrey Telesin stopping any attempts. The team has a four-game week with games Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday against Leman Academy, Platte River, Denver Christian, and Ben Franklin. The B team will square up against Denver Christian and then get a little bit of a breather. Good luck, boys, you got this!
