APRIL 1st-5th SPRING BREAK NO SCHOOL
March is reading month! So find a book you don’t want to LEGO of and read. We are going to bring our Lego theme into many of our activities this month. Check out the amazing Legos set up in the library. Our US history section includes the Statue of Liberty and the White House Legos, Van Gough's Starry Night marks the art and drawing section, and Jurassic Park and Dinosaur Legos are set up over our dinosaur section...and many more. (These Legos are on loan and no touching will be permitted.)
Thanks to generous donations, your students can earn tickets to be entered to win some really nice Lego sets. Parent’s signatures will be required to confirm reading minutes and weekly prizes for reading. There will be some extra fun Fridays to celebrate reading month as well.
March 22: Find a great book right ‘hair’ in the library- Crazy Hair Day
March 29: Book characters are awesome- Character Dress Up Day
On March 27, author Chad Morris will be visiting our school. Chad Morris and his wife, Shelly Brown have written many books together. If you’re looking for a good book you may consider reading one of theirs. We will be sending out a preorder so that if you’re interested you can buy a book and have it signed when he comes. Students are encouraged to wear sunglasses to the assembly to go along with their book Squint.
READING BOOKS IS AWESOME!

LIBRARY NEWS
BOOK CLUB
It’s Book Club time! (For 4th, 5th, and 6th graders)
In order to allow more students to participate, with a limited number of available books in our library, book club will be a little different this year. Check out the dates posted below to see when we will be discussing and doing activities for each book. Students who want to participate should try to read books before we meet. There are a limited number of books available in our library, but they are also available at the public library. These books are really great and could also make great gifts this holiday season! So start reading and plan on book club!
Please register for book club in the office. You will need to sign a permission slip allowing your student to participate before school hours begin. It will cost $5 per book. No younger siblings will be allowed since these books, our discussions, and activities are geared towards 4th, 5th, and 6th graders.
Book Club will meet in the library before school at 8 AM.
