We can't wait to celebrate our seniors and their future! Read about all the details above. We also begin SOL Testing this week. Please review SOL and AP Testing if you haven't already. On-time attendance (with charged chromebooks in hand) is critical so we can keep to our schedule which involves lots of moving parts and people! Attendance is so important that we'll have an Ice Cream Bar on Tuesday from the RPS Engagement Team to remind students that WE'RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER. And more frozen desserts on Thursday as we celebrate the brilliant Class of 2025.

Come out and cheer on the Queen Bees Flag Football Team for two games this week. Right now they are #3 in the district! And sophomore Avin Wade has his directoral debut this week with the OHS Players at VCU and The Forest of Passage.

We've already raised $1,052.65 but still need $482.20 to support the OHS Rocket Club's purchase of a 3D Printer ends. May 8 is the last day to give to these future engineers by visiting Donors Choose. Thanks to those who have already donated! This weekend they're hosting a Model Rocket Workshop at Ravencon. Check them out on Instagram @openhigh_rocketclub.

We have the smartest, most compassionate teachers at Open High. Please help celebrate them during Teacher Appreciation Week, May 5 - 9. The smallest gesture can make a world of difference.

We need your help! ALL seniors are asked to complete THIS SURVEY. It is a post-survey for the Transitions class offered to some seniors this year, but we still need ALL seniors to complete. It should only take 10-15 minutes to complete. It is completely anonymous, as students will create a unique code to help us compare their answers with their earlier responses. At the end of the survey, students will have the option to share their contact information if they are open to completing two additional follow-up surveys later this year. Those who do can earn up to $30 in gift cards as a thank you.

It's time to brag about your future plans! Stop by the office and grab a paper balloon, add your name and your future plans to it so we can put it on our Senior board. Also, DM @openhigh25 with school/career choice, picture of yourself, and intended major so we can share with the world! We're so proud of each and every one of you!

Looking for a great PAID experience this summer? Join Groundwork RVA, a local non-profit focused on providing outdoor work-learning experiences for Richmond Area high schoolers. Th Summer Green Team is a paid opportunity for students to explore environmental careers, do hands-on greenspace work in Richmond, and travel to state & National parks. Groundwork RVA also assists students for life after high school by setting up interviews or internships in their field of interest. The Youth Educator, Ii'Jeana James, is an Open High graduate! The Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:30 PM. Please become a member and make your voice heard. Your dues are an important funding source for our school, supporting field trips, teacher classroom supplies, student clubs, monthly breakfasts, senior scholarships, the fall festival, the end-of-the year picnic, teacher appreciation week, holiday treats, and more! Joining does not obligate you to anything although we are always looking for more help! Extra donations are also very much appreciated. Consider linking your Kroger Shopper's Card to the Open High PTSA.
