Grade 10 River Days - Further details will be provided by the TAG Advisors. Please see the info letter from the Outdoor Ed. Department for reminders.
ACTION REQUIRED - The ImPACT Test is a baseline cognitive test that is important in helping to diagnose concussion and to manage post-concussion return to academics and athletics. All students in Grade 7-11 are required to complete the test prior to August 30. The ImPACT test explanation and instructions are posted on the Athletics webpage.
Pick-Up and Drop-off Traffic: The Traffic Circulation Memo details the student pick-up and drop-off guidelines for Selwyn House, including designated no-parking zones and times for the City of Westmount and Selwyn House.
Breakfast service begins on Monday, September 16: Our kitchen will offer an optional breakfast service of hot and cold food and drink items to all SHS students between 7:15-8:00 a.m. on school days. Student purchases will be logged and billed to corresponding Selwyn House accounts. No cash will be accepted. Throughout the year, on occasions when we cannot offer breakfast service due to special school events in the dining hall, we will notify families on our school calendar or via email.
Hockey Town Hall: Thursday, August 29, 7:30-9:00pm in Coristine Hall. Parents of hockey players are highly encouraged to attend this event. This information session will discuss the Selwyn House hockey program and lay out expectations for the upcoming season. Please RSVP by clicking the link here to confirm that you will be in attendance.
Parent-Student Handbook: The Parent-Student Handbook is designed to inform parents and students on the school policies and guidelines and is available on our website (About>Parent-Student Handbook). Please take a look with your son.

PVA (Parent Volunteer Association) News:
Welcome Back Tea & Coffee for all Selwyn Parents! Once the boys have started school, please pop by to meet new parents and catch up with current ones in the west courtyard on Thursday, September 5 starting at 8:15 a.m. Tea, coffee, conversation, and some delicious baked goods will be served! All Selwyn House parents are welcome, and we hope to see you there. Look for us under the tent!

Spirit Day!: Let’s celebrate our school spirit! Spirit Day will take place on Wednesday, September 11 from 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Students, staff and Selwyn House families are all invited to an afternoon of games, activities, prizes, food, entertainment and fun! Have a chance to dunk a teacher in the dunk tank or help your house win at tug of war! Registration is not required. We hope to see you there!

Overview of the First Week of Senior School 2024 - 2025
Staggered Start Information:
Students will attend a grade-level specific day in the first week of school. Students should be wearing full school uniform, and Grade 10's and 11's should bring their laptops as they will need them for their workshops. Please pay close attention to the dates below:
Grade 9 Day: Tuesday, August 27, 8:45 AM - 2:00 PM (meet in Coristine Hall)
Grade 10 Day: Wednesday, August 28, 8:45 AM - 2:00 PM (meet in Coristine Hall)
Grade 11 Day: Thursday, August 29, 8:45 AM - 2:00 PM (meet in Rossy Agora)
Fantastic Friday - House Shirts & Activities Day
On Friday, August 30, Senior School students will have a full day of house activities. Students should wear their house t-shirts, athletic bottoms and running shoes as they will be active all day.
School Supplies for 2024 - 2025:
Grade 9 Supply List: Click here for the Grade 9 Supply List required for Grade 9's for 2024 - 2025.
Grade 10 and Grade 11: There is no specific school supply list for Grade 10 & 11 students, as they may enroll in a variety of course options. Students choose their own general school supplies and should establish a method of keeping their school work organized. Students will be advised during the first week of school if a teacher requires something specific for his or her course.
Summer Reading: During the first few days of school, students will be tested to determine if they have completed their summer reading, please come prepared.
Laptops for 2024-2025: Grade 9-11 students will need to provide their own laptops. The laptop may be of any make or model. Students must have a laptop with them for class every day.
The laptop should meet these specifications:

MAC or Windows
